That sucks and I hope she will be OK. On the other hand it will make the hotel nearly impossible to get into for awhile. I imagine they will try to seal it back up and watch it closely again.

She was fucking around at night... she had that coming.
All she did was needlessly risk others well being and make harder for all other explorers that follow her there.

2Xplorations, I hope no UER member is fool enough to do this.
This free fall was 100% preventable.
Predawn if need be using caution, then wait for daybreak to explore.
At least two good flashlights is mandatory.

Well Im not going to say too much detail since I made this thread public for a reason. Two or three UER members came to mind immediately just hope its not one of them. If it is I hope their injuries aren't bad, I don't know what so called "moderate" injuries mean but since they had to be carried out I suspect broken leg or maybe a back injury.

The preferred method here is getting inside before dark and hunkering down until after dawn. Ive seen too many people running around in here waving flashlights at night you can see that from beyond the city limits!

Fatwax is right this will almost certainly change security (which is pretty weak anyway) but the owner(s) have bigger worries. In the parlance of tort law what we have here involves an "attractive nuisance" (and Im not talking about the girl I dated in college either)

The article basically supports and acknowledges that history of trespassing for any potential plaintiffs even if they are not children which this particular Texas doctrine is designed to protect.

Failure to protect the public from injuries the owners "knew" or should have known could happen is recipe for big cash award even if the injured party was in the wrong or trespassing.

As noted hope she will be Ok.

Probably an ankle/knee and/or back injury. The fact she didn't crawl out tells the tale.
Not life threatening... but life changing.
oops.

I had actually been discussing this very location with some folks recently and when I saw this article the other day thought: "Well, that's gonna put the powers that be on high alert for sure".

I think most of us have the two trains of thought when something like this happens:
1 - Gee, I hope that person is ok.
2 - Dammit, this place is gonna be off limits for a while.

Its not particularly hard to access, you just gotta watch out for the motion sensors.

Huh, the Mineral Wells Index thinks it can sell me to read more than five of its articles.

Pretty much. Doubt we'd see it with this location, but I've beard of sites that are either completely locked down or demo'd when people are injured/killed in them.

"She dropped into The kitchen area....in the basement...was longer than she anticipated," says a woman in the comments section below the article (where most of the useful information in any interesting story is to be found).
She said that the woman broke her leg when she fell and was cited for trespassing after 911 was called.
The commenter claims to know all of this because her husband "took care of the Baker for 18 years."

I wandered till the stars went dim.
