and I am bored, so what the hell. Well, I didn't post much to begin with. Several of the Houston area people know me and have been at this for a bit. Rather than start a million threads for separate locations, I figured I would put several shots from different spots in one. Gonna post just ones that fit into the specific geography of this subforum, unless y'all want to see more from elsewhere. Hopefully I don't regret posting these and it is too many photos, mods, feel free to delete.

Good stuff! I like the one with the fake leg. One of my employees is in the process of having a new one made for him, I would have been so tempted to present that one to him.

Wow Texano! Looks like you have been everyplace known to man and woman. You take awesome shots! Really was interested in your shot of the Sab. Hotel. So, i scanned your flickr account to see all of your pics. NICE!!! Thats a hard cookie to crack, but got in there several years ago myself... briefly.

Yeah, I posted a few times back around 2012 maybe? Not sure. I go a ways back with Secret Squirrel. There are a few others on here or used to be on here that I know. Just figured I would post some of my shots in a place they would be appreciated. Here are a few more for the hell of it.

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time. Z.B.S. Halevi -- Kabbalah |

Thanks for the kind words. I am not a pro photographer although I have sold prints and did self publish a book. But I have a boring office job and shoot on the weekends. Everything I have posted was shot with either a Canon 40D or 5D Mark ii. The majority with the latter. I use budget lenses because I can't justify buying good glass. My go to wide angle is a Sigma 12-24mm.

Absolutely beautiful pictures. I used to come to this website a lot, though I never was an active poster. But it's probably been a year since the last time I logged on and this is the first thread I see, incredible. I haven't even lived in Texas for a year yet so I only recognized one of these photos. (well two if you count the obvious sports arena but everyone knows what that is). I will say, it's definitely encouraging to know that so much beauty exists in this region. I was afraid when I moved away from the East Coast I was also moving away from the best Urbex opportunities. I've had a hard time finding anything too interesting because I live in West Texas. These photos represent pretty much the gist of everything I've come across since living here: 1.
2.
3.
As you can see, it's nothing to the scale of what I'm seeing here.

Hit me up in a PM and I might be able to help.

I love West Texas. Lots of ghost towns out there. I am planning a trip out there within the next year or so to explore. Drove through a while back going to and from California for vacay. I stopped and took a lot of pictures at random places on the way back home. Then mistakenly thinking that I had downloaded the pictures already I formatted the memory card. Very mad.
