Completed in 1916, this small-town Pennsylvania hospital operated until its relocation in 1965. It was expanded to include a smaller third floor in 1942, raising the facility's capacity to 100 beds. By 1965, the hospital was overcrowded and a new larger facility was constructed at another location. This building was purchased and became a nursing home. Conditions at the nursing home were severe and multiple code violations were reported, leading to its closure in 1985. The complex has been abandoned since and has become overgrown on the exterior and highly unstable on the interior. There have been multiple collapses and floors are very weak in some places. 1. Nice one, this is still on my bucket list of locations to see at some point.
|
|
been there a couple of times over the last few months. Crazy to see how much it has fallen in, even more in that short of time. Did you get into the nurses quarters across the street?
|
|
Thanks guys!

Unfortunately, no. We did see a way in but didn't have the time. Next time I'm down that way, I'll leave some time for it.

Great photos. Some rooms look like they were underwater from all the rust and damage.

Not one to really ask but can you pm me a location maybe?

Nice job! I love little hideaways like this.
"Are you happy now with all the choices you've made?" "Are there times in life when you know you should've stayed?" "Will you compromise and then realize the price is too much to pay?" "Winners and losers... which one will you be today?" ***Social Distortion*** |

Pretty cool shots. This is on my list to see and being it's around an hour away I would be stupid not to check it out.

Nice pic's, this place looks like it has avoided the destruction of vandals, but not of time. Seems like everything abandonedly awesome is in PA!

13 and 17 are awesome. Enjoyed your take on this place. Good job!

Nice shots. Nicely untouched and naturally aged from what it seems. Really like 7,9, and 17. I can almost picture the faint memory of an old lady resting on that bed looking out that window wondering if today was the day.

This place is always a good time. Nothing like seeing the beds from the third floor crash through multiple floors to the basement. I couldn’t really capture it in my photos. It was super surreal.

I'm from PA and am unfamiliar with this location. Might have to do some snooping around to figure it out so I can try and get it before it's too late. Beautiful pictures. You really captured a lot.
They say I gotta respect the system, but there ain't no respect in that system for me. |

Love that this hasn't been gutted yet! Nice capture of the decay

If you are going, you better go soon.. I was just there and both buildings are really starting to collapse. If you go, don't skip out on the building next to the hospital, you have no idea what you are missing.

Yes. That's the one I am talking about. Its really caving in on itself now. Not to mention how trashed it has gotten. The graffiti has gotten much worse now too... in both buildings. I am surprised no one else has made it to the other abandoned hospital that replaced this one...
