Samurai's New Car
< on 10/14/2016 10:14 PM >

After finally getting my finances in order now that I am no longer working, I decided that my Cruze, with 101,000 on it, might be getting unreliable. I checked into a Kia Forte Koup and a Forte 5, but they didn't give me enough in trade for the 12 Cruze.

So I hooked up with another dealer and looked into a 17 Cruze LT/RS in kinetic blue. Downside? they had to go all the way to New Hampshire (from Plattsburgh NY) for a manual shift Cruze. (eyeroll)

if all goes as planned, which it probably won't because there is some confusion as to my finances, I might have the car. Which I am doubting.

If it goes to plan, they are going to fetch it on Monday. Should have it by Wednesday.

Comments?
And what I mean by finances is that I am now fully disabled and get social security as well as my pension from the company.

Pics upon delivery.

I tried out a Kia Forte 5... it wasn't that bad of a car. I was surprised!
It was a snotty little cuss and was really fun to drive.

that's what I was going to get was the Koup, but Eric said it's a bit of a unicorn and the only thing he had on the lot that was comparable, mechanically, was the Forte 5 Sport... I took out and beat the shit out of it I have to say, that little fucker had some kimchi under the hood. I was ripping the tires free into 3rd gear and it handled really well. The only dark spot was that it had goofy clutch in it. The engage point was in a strange spot.

See if you get an import car you wont have to worry about all shit breaking at or soon after 100k miles. Hyundai and Kia sure did get better in quality, my good friend was a Hyundai tech for awhile and he also worked for Honda he swore that Hyundai had a better product than Honda.

If that's the car that you want, and the car that will make you happy, then congrats! It's not my thing, but if we all liked the same car, there wouldn't be variety.

We should start a funny car stuff thread. Memes, pics of funny cars, etc.

um... I like GM.
I tried out the Kia as a favor to a friend of mine who now sells cars.
I prefer the Cruze.

We've been over the this eight million times since 2003...

when you get 5 recalls in 3 years to work on the same problem it leaves a bad taste in ones mouth.

meanwhile on the 3.8... 2 different recalls about the engine fire issue, yet none addressed the fact that most of these engines leak fuel from the quick connect when the fuel pump is off and pressure is low.

or the J body steering column fire recall, we wont fix the ignition switch... we will install a timed relay to prevent long cranking
