Long abandoned rural homestead - Fraser Valley, BC

Fresh find from Saturday afternoon. This is the sort of location that I find myself enjoying the most, quiet and remote, minimal chance of interruption, no evidence of past looting or squatting, and relatively untouched by vandals.

This house appears to have been abandoned at an odd time, it seems like the previous occupants just vanished halfway through the moving process. Most of the original furniture and appliances remain, children's toys are scattered across the floor of one bedroom, the fridge still contains condiments, framed photos of what could be past occupants (or relatives of) are strewn about the halls, and each room contains cardboard boxes partially packed with possessions but not yet sealed. Most documentation inside was dated from the late 60s to late 80s, nothing beyond, but I have a feeling the television in the bedroom is a 90s model, still have to do some Googling to confirm. The floor is wet and soft with holes in many places and a trash can has been left in the middle of the living room to collect leaking rainwater, nearly filled to brim now with a thin layer of what looks like mold floating at the surface, it must have been placed there long ago. In one of the rooms the entire floor has given way, leaving a wall closet seemingly floating in place. The entire interior of the home is lined with humongous undisturbed spider webs. In the backyard a small barn stands on its last legs, mostly collapsed on the inside, not far from being reclaimed by the surrounding weeds.

My boyfriend and I came across this location when we were on a UE road trip. I have been inside tons of abandoned random houses but there was something really off about this place. The energy from the house was just so unnerving I could feel it in the pit of my stomach the whole time! I've never actually felt nervous from just the atmosphere of a house before. I've been nervous before about floor boards or squatter or getting caught in certain cases but never just a house. Great photos though!!!

I just had that happen for the first time yesterday. It's a strange thing.

I guess I just don't understand what could cause a family to just up and leave, leaving behind an entire house with all their furniture and even photographs and stuff. Just makes me really nervous

Random info update:
I found an image online (which I can;t post here as someone has it copyrighted) of this house in 2014 and in the picture there is a little restaurant or general store next to the house but it is still abandoned. So since then the store or restaurant building was burnt down or destroyed but it was already long abandoned.

In the case of that

Interesting, that explains where the huge burnt pile of rubble out front came from. Here's another picture I didn't include in the OP where you can see it behind my truck. I've been able to find newspaper articles for a B&B house fire on that road but it's not the same house. Also, however unrelated, apparently a fatal car accident occurred right at that corner last summer.

I have this curse where I can't just walk into an abandonment and accept that its abandoned. I need to know everything about it. So if that restaurant picture was taken in 2014 that means the fire happened AFTER the house was abandoned as the picture I found was on an abandoned blog. The latest newspaper articles in the house are from as you said above the 80s. So why would a family up and leave with half of their belongings behind. I can't not know. I have been back like a million times and like the toys and furniture, maybe but there are super personal items there. Like personal photographs. I want to know what happened!!!

The floor is EXTREMELY unstable. I highly recommend against venturing too far into the living room. One of the floors in one bed room has already completely collapsed and the living room floor looks like its going to go any second. Also its super dark in the house so sometimes its hard to take pictures. Wouldn't go in alone just in case

Didnt get a chance to get inside due to snow and blackberry bushes but....here are some photos of the outside and the shed near the back of the property. Gonna do some more research into this place. Gives off a really dark vibe and just makes it seem like something bad happened here.

Also found this on google images tonight.

Looks like someone was living there possibly in 2011? so that means between now and then it could have been abandoned. last time google was out there was 2014 and the 2nd half of the building was still up back then.
