Went through NC/VA. (Image heavy)

Zipped around North Carolina for a day before heading up to VA to do some hiking and revisiting a favourite spot of mine.

First off, some old nurse dorms-- not much to say about these other than after seeing all the other buildings now in use, I'm glad this one was still accessible/left alone.

Since this one's basically on the level of roadside tourist attraction, figure it's alright to skirt the "no locations/POE" rule...being that it's pretty much a movie set though, there's still some cool stuff to see.

Wish I had time to climb that tower... But it was getting late and I had to return the rental car.

Real "Last of Us" feeling from this place off the side of an country road.

Finally got one of them "reclaimed by nature" vehicle shots like the cool kids all do.

Easily one of the favourite places I've been to, ever. Last time I was here was about 4 years ago, lot of new growth, couple collapses, and bit more graffiti, but not too much has changed. For that, I'm real glad.

Damn your speedway pics are great, I really need to go there when the sun isn't setting. I also still need to go to that mill.

The mill's alright, nothing super exciting there but great if you're just passing through the area. Lot of locked up junk (from the movie I'm assuming) in one of the buildings you can peek through the windows to see though.

Speedway I wish I'd brought my bicycle for. Would be pretty fun to rip around on that thing like my own personal (crumbling) velodrome!

I've wanted to go to "District 12" and the Speedway for about a year now but havent found the time. Now I know its definitely worth it to check out that speedway!

Okay that "reclaimed by nature" vehicle shot has my heart. 10/10 would buy a print

Love that first speedway shot!

The last ones that are in VA doesn't change much as they patrol it pretty well, and will ticket. When we were there, a car started driving around looking for us no more than 20 minutes after we went in. He told us on the way out they had written more than 120 tickets in the first few months that year.
