Did a little driving in some of the neighboring towns after work today. Found a few places that I will hit up when the weather cools off a bit. Found an old airport that looks like it was closed down, but there were was a lot of farming activity going on next door. So the "big" find today was an Elementary school that has been closed for a bit. But first, the required closed gas station. Old gas station by Road Extx, on Flickr Now for the school, this is what I saw when I drove by, had to stop! Only could get into four classrooms, all the other doors were padlocked or screwed shut. I will revisit every so often to check on them. Portions of the school have been remodeled and are now the public library, so no auditorium or gymnasium were available. Found an old house that called out to me. But it was not really too much to look at. House by Road Extx, on Flickr House by Road Extx, on Flickr Seeing that I am 260-270lbs one peek int the windows at the floor made my decisions to go inside an easy one. lol House by Road Extx, on Flickr

Cool find! I love schools and hospitals - especially when there's lots of stuff left behind and/or overgrowth. I followed your Flickr link and saw your album entitled, "theater," and I'm pretty sure I've been there. Did it have an overall Egyptian theme going on? You should post that one too, it's a really unique spot, if it's the one in Houston I'm thinking of. BTW, Your comments are disabled on Flickr, or I would have posted the latter over there!

There's no theater in Houston with an Egyptian theme. The place with the Egyptian theme is a restaurant.

Here ya go, it was my first one.
Though not in Houston, this is in my hometown, couple hours South-ish. Glad you enjoyed.

It's kind of debatable what that is, to be honest. It has a theater. It had food. It also had skeletons. So let's not go with semantics here. You didn't HAVE to eat there, much like you didn't HAVE to see a show... xD One of the places you walk around and just kind of go "Why?" the whole time.

I wouldn't really call that a theater tho. It had like 5 rows of seats inside a restaurant and bar lol. More like an auditorium. A theater is what the Granada or OST are. I was talking about the large theaters in the city when I initially said that anyway. That's like calling a McDonald's cheeseburger 100% beef.

I really think it depends on the type of theater you want to refer to it as. "the·a·ter ˈTHēədər/ noun a building or outdoor area in which plays and other dramatic performances are given." With that definition it would be a theater. I would be thoroughly shocked if the performances there were anything less than dramatic, afterall.

Yes but it's not an actual theater. It wouldn't be listed as a theater cause it's not one. If it was a 'theater' it would be listed as such. But it does have one of these.
Auditorium (ˌɔːdɪˈtɔːrɪəm) n, pl -toriums or -toria (-ˈtɔːrɪə) 1. (Theatre) the area of a concert hall, theatre, school, etc, in which the audience sits

Sounds like they're pretty much synonymous...
