I always figured my first new car would be something super impractical, but things change!

It's still got a clutch pedal and a turbo at least.

Hanging with some stacks. I also have a photo of the black wagon in front of these stacks from 8 years ago somewhere.

...And the two of us just look like midgets.

That was back when the black wagon only had about 360,000 or so on it!

You can also get inside the stack now.

If I had to get a new VW, this is definitely the colour I would go for.

Thanks! I generally seem to get stuck with silver, white or black cars so I figured I'd get one that's actually a colour and not just a shade! It was between this and red, but I'm loving the green.

I think Jay and BHLF were just like 25 feet closer to the camera, we can't be that short.

$1,000 and runs like a top. Does not shift like a top because the AT545 sucks. Remarkably clean in terms of rust.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

The Thunderbird is my brother and fathers, pics taken at a car show in Ticonderoga NY in August. The pics of my Cruze were taken in Westport NY a week or so in front of an old schoolhouse, one of the oldest left in New York state.

I have a thing with deer and vehicles, but it's been a long time (the last time I hit one I think was driving a Jeep)

I hit a rather large buck on my way to work last Monday at about 95 km/h. Quite impressed with how tough these things are.

The only non cosmetic damage was the battery breaking apart, thus breaking the stud off of the starter solenoid, and the rad support is in 30 pieces. I figured things were bad when the car quit and wouldn't crank but it turned out to be a fairly simple fix. Oddly enough, the hood latch still works.

Anyway, still driving it (with a zip tied headlight assembly and a new battery), picking up some used body panels tomorrow. I have a parts car, but unfortunately it's bright red. The frustrating thing is that I've scrapped two Jettas the same blue as this one in the past two years! Oh well. It just looks like it wants to eat a Tesla now or something.
