Tearing down the Nike Missile Base
< on 8/11/2016 12:16 AM >
Posted on Forum: UER ForumQuote
This is my first post, so hopefully I'm doing this correctly. Nike Missile Base in Redmond, Washington has been demolished. Went back last Sunday for a final goodbye and all of the 7 (more or less) buildings have been destroyed. All that is left are the underground missile storage containers, these are still flooded. Sad to see such an amazing place go.

I am sorry to hear that. A favorite place of mine is going to be demolished too and it will be hard saying goodbye. Anyway, I am actually planning on visiting a Nike missile base in the bay area. Do you know if they are going to tear down any of those too?

I'm still figuring out the website but all my photos seem to exceed the max size, any tips?

I'm from California as well, but I never got to make it to the bay area missile bases, but I have friends up there. As far as they know, the missile sites are staying put!

Upload them somewhere like Photobucket, and then link to them here. Your photos will be viewed by a lot fewer people if you upload them directly here, because the interface is so tedious.

You have to down size them to less than 100K or link them as already mentioned.

Not really. It's a lot of data... it makes sense to limit image size.

Replace [pic] with [inp] to display the image full size instead of a thumbnail link...

I remember when we went here, there was a sign on one of the buildings that said something like "Entry prohibited, except by competent individuals." It seemed very subjective, and I remember thinking that if the cops showed up, we would just argue that we were competent and direct them to the sign. Cracked me up.
