Burnt

This nursing home has burnt to the ground.
Off of Brian Lane can this home be found.
Without exception vandals ought be slane.
Here is an epitaph to Brian Lane.

Almost perfect meter. Someone wanna give me a hand here? Seriously, I'd love some poetical entries.

Anyway, this nursing home (ooh, fun) of off Brian Lane, Lexington, NC would have burnt to the ground were brick and stone not so abundant.

Judging by the abundance of the nearby foliage, and the healthy condition of the trees covering what used to be the roof, I'd assume the fire occurred some time ago. The last portfolio left on this location's DB page is from 2007. Coulda burnt anytime between now and then.

It seems as though more than a few parties have occurred here. Now there's two reasons not to sit on that couch.

Looks like the place was closed down (new facility was already operational) at the time of the fire back in April of 2015. Glad no one was hurt, sad that people cannot just leave things alone.

Good photos and thanks for sharing. I especially liked #9, the green foliage and the gloomy doorway is a nice contrast.

That one's my favorite. Took about 50 shots before I found that one. If you look closely, you might see that the outlines of the open door and the wooden beam barely touch, creating a 45-degree angle in the bottom-middle of the photograph.

I wish I could say I did that on purpose.
