Had an absolute blast exploring an old mine up near Central City earlier this month. Unfortunately that has been the only time I've been able to get out to explore all summer due to a crazy busy work schedule. This was my second trip to this mine. As I stepped inside, the familiar atmosphere wrapped me up and off I went with my friend to create wonderful urbex memories...until we got chased off by an ATV, which is a first for me. Haha. Come to find out, it's active again! Which would explain the getting chased out part. But anyway, still got some great photos and had a great time exploring this place. As we attempted our exfil, my friend stepped on something that made a loud noise like a gunshot. Oh well, guess we were just going to be in for an adventurous exit. Needless to say, we exited the mine(albeit not via the way the Exit sign in a previous photo suggested) and heard an ATV coming up from behind. We booked it into the trees and somehow made it to my car without being caught. *PHEW!* 12) First Name Glory by Daniel McAdams, on Flickr 13) Fancy Roundness by Daniel McAdams, on Flickr 14) Dayton Motor Control by Daniel McAdams, on Flickr 15) Canned by Daniel McAdams, on Flickr 16) Big Metal by Daniel McAdams, on Flickr Hope you enjoyed!

That's a great location; I love the old industrial sites, and you captured it very well. I'm curious to hear more about this chase though.

Thanks man! I love the old industrial places too. As we exited the building, we were walking towards the trees when two cars drove by along the road. We took cover and they passed by. Then we heard another motor, this time of an ATV. And the sound was coming up from behind us. There were two guys that we had heard talking, so we are assuming one of them drove around to catch whoever was on the property before they could get out/off(that would be us, but we made a quick exit as soon as we knew we were compromised). We ran into the trees and heard the ATV behind us still but being in the forest the trees were too dense for them to follow. We were worried they had driven the road first and found my car but thankfully there was nobody there and we took off. As we drove back passed the mine(only way to get back to the main road) we could hear the ATV driving around behind the mine still. Not sure how close we had come to being seen/caught but we sure didn't want to stick around to find out either.

It would've been interesting to explore the place on quads yourselves. Would've made for an interesting Quad vs. Quad chase!!
