My first urban exploration excursion. Looking to improve my photography skills on further excursions. All taken with a mirrorless Sony a6000. No editing was used however any suggestions on how I should edit would be appreciated. 1. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Normally I would take issue with the elongated rectangular aspect ratio of these, but it actually works well with most of these. I really like the last two, although personally I would either crop out the blur at the right edge of #6 or else not shoot it that way in the first place. #2 and #3 do nothing for me, they just seem kind of arbitrary. Definitely digging the others, and looking forward to seeing more of your stuff. As far as editing, 1 and 5 could probably benefit from a bit more contrast.

Be sure to think of what you want the viewer to see first. Some of these shots are sort of muddled - there's TOO MUCH to look at - like the glass or graffiti. Be sure to use light and framing to draw to (or away from) some point in one way or another. Think about negative space and how that affects the interest in the photo. For instance, #5 makes the best use of neg. space IMO. Framing away from something slightly can help draw you to it. Hope that helps! Let me know if I need to clarify. Keep practicing - looking forward to seeing what you get up to! //Sparro
