had some trouble with the Cruze this week... apparently, the turbo has failed. Not spectacularly, but there are some issues. Luckily, it's still warrantied and will be replaced at no cost to me.

shit happens. I was actually waiting for all sorts of deep fried nastiness...

not really sure what part failed... I asked the parts guy about it and they had a 2013 in a couple of weeks that had a turbo that failed. I wonder if it was something I did to the car? I don't know... at least it's warrantied.
I can still drive the car, it's just going to be gutless and the mileage will be off.

As an Audi B5 S4 owner, those two words have me shivering in delirious fear.. almost as bad as 'intermittent electical fault'. Sorry about the Cruze.

it wasn't that bad... it was repaired quickly and under warranty. It took less than 2 hours to fix and I was on my way. GM customer service has come a long way. Eight years ago, you would've had to dig and fight and piss and moan to get it fixed. This was no questions asked and the powertrain warranty was extended because of that failure.

I'm hoping to avoid the engine pull until we've bought a bigger house with a bit more garage.... I'm finishing up a few house projects to get it on the market by the Spring.

A lift is definitely on the short list of goodies after we move.

lost the clip that holds the rod from the wastegate actuator to the wastegate this morning... luckily, my friend who owns a repair shop had a minute and fixed it right up.

"turbo breaks"? I see an opportunity for a bigger turbo upgrade then!

it's a 1.4L DOHC in a Chevy Cruze… I don't see any WRC rallies in my future.
