This is a famous one in Detroit.

Got arrested for it.

No regrets. Link to complete (brief, due to cops with guns drawn) Flickr album at bottom of post.

Full album (only 9 photos, because placed in handcuffs in middle of shooting), here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskBCNwLF

Sorry to hear about the arrest, but great photos nonetheless. Curious: Did they charge you w/ something potentially serious, then offer you a plea deal ?
I've been exploring off and on since I was a young teen and have been in that train station a couple of times in years past. These days, you could say I'm "semi retired."

Were you charged with criminal trespass?

You and me both. I worked for three months in Bad Axe, MI (up in the thumb) and went to Detroit a handful of times to explore. Never made it in the train station.

Wonder what the hell Matty is planning on doing with it...

Bummer about the arrest, been there, done that. Let us know how it develops.

Cool pictures while it lasted. Any idea how you got caught? Neighbors phone it in, cameras, motion detectors?

They charged me with "EWOP" ("Entering without permission," Detroit's equivalent of "trespassing").

At first they tried to say they were going to charge us (I was with 2 comrades) with "breaking and entering" and all kinds of other garbage, but since we broke nothing and just used our wits and some climbing skills to get in (without damaging anything), all they had was "EWOP."

I paid around $150 bail and then got a $250 fine plus a 30-day suspended jail sentence. The judge said that as long as we didn't get into trouble in Detroit again within I think 90 days of the sentence, it would also disappear from our records.

It was no big deal, honestly. Just hurt my wallet a bit.

The irony is that even local cops seem adamant that he isn't going to do anything with it....will be interesting to see....

We tripped a motion detector, unfortunately. A silent one.
