Anything's possible! Just be sure to take it off your car before parking outside the UER convention.

At the moment there's no guarantee I'll be selling anything. It's up to Av and Crossfire. Magnets are more expensive to produce - it depends on the demand.

ah ok! I'd definitely buy one if they're available!

Made two more. They're alright... might make two more then move on to other themes. If I keep designing stuff maybe this will eventually come true 1.

I think you should change the placement of the text "Urban Exploration Resource" in the first cover. Instead of being gapped out like that, maybe put it in a semicircle in just the top half of the manhole cover instead of being evenly gapped out? I just think it looks funny because the words are different length. Just a thought, hope this helps! EDIT: Specified which cover

Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not, we never are. But that's not the right question. The question is, are we living a life that is worth the harm? |

I would tend to agree - though the text is gapped out because that's how it appears in the real manhole cover after which it was modeled. Where this one says "EXPLORATION RESOURCE" it said "SANITARY SEWER" I think the round text is fun because manholes are seldom ever viewed from one direction. Which is funny because the other manhole in that post is single-direction oriented. Here's a trial of the requested change (I'm not sure I like it, let me know what you think) and also something else I figured could lend a level of ubiquity to the stickers. People might just think it's a general waterworks dept sticker unless they read it.. haha
1.
2. Edit: There are some dots out of place in the second one, I fixed them in my file.

Think your going down a one way street with this now... and the logo is too intricate. Meh, may be a hoot for drainer but not doing it for me. Sorry. Keep it bold, visible and simple... so LEOs can easily see it. 'Just an urban explorer, move along...'
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

I also have an interest in the stickers/magnets/possible shirts that I'll inevitably wear to a meetup on accident because I was still half asleep when getting dressed! ALL THE SWAG!
But if you are going artsy, then you're going all the way. Someone's cutting off an ear! |

Different strokes different folks! I picture these as more of a novelty to put on my various belongings to sort of represent — less as an ID or anything clandestine.. I’ve played with actual logos and hexes - still waiting to hear from Av about those, and really this whole sticker project in general. I will eventually experiment with other ways to represent the community and provide value and something interesting that will make for stickers everyone can use and enjoy in different ways.

It looks like you have some design talent. Cool. I don't feel good about people slapping a UER bumper sticker on their car though. Maybe a fridge magnet but that's about it. Advertising UER so publicly would bring in a crowd that the vast majority of UER members despise. I for one would not want to meet with an explorer that had a sticker on their nearby car that screams "I trespass on abandoned property," either. There are just too many negatives that outweigh any reason to sport a UER bumper sticker. Edit: I'd like to clarify that I'm not against stickers, just bumper stickers/magnets.

Thanks! I haven't actually called them "Bumper" stickers haha - but they might end up on bumpers regardless.. They would also end up in neat places that would recruit people that are actually interested in the forum and like exploring. IMO the existing system for new members (days before posting, most full members seeing right through the wrongly-motivated noobs) works well for weeding out the bums. The slow decline of UER since the late 00's I think could use some more awareness... just my opinion

I've been thinking of trying to get into contact with people on my campus by leaving a message with information on how to contact me (via a throwaway email address, of course) in places only an explorer would find, a la early Cave Clan. Those stickers, or even just the designs, would be a nice touch. Now I just have to figure out how to get into where I plan to leave the notes... On that topic, why DID UER begin its slow decline? Part of it was many older members retiring from exploration, but why the stream of new members slow down?

I think that could be worth a new thread. The decline of registration, user frequency/activity and how it could be affected post 2008. .... And maybe how to fix it

I would very much be interested in that sort of thread. I found this site by googling urban exploration forum, or something along those lines. How active was urbex ~10 years ago? I was 9, so I couldn't really have been in the community. And btw I love the designs

Aw, c'mon, it has historical value! The groundbreaking research and accurate conclusions deduced there have served urban exploration well.
