I'm all for a decal, but I think the key with something like that would be subtlety. I'm all for putting a white hexagon on my bumper on the off chance that someone from the site sees, but I don't want to put a foot long glossy stamp on my car that tells the friendly police officer that I just been trespassin'. A minimalist design also ensures no one can really get carried away with tagging or leaving a logo/name everywhere (Not that they couldn't just spraypaint UER before). Just my 2 cents. I'd buy the decals, and maybe the shirt to wear to bed and support the site. I'm excited, sounds like it'll all be nice

I don't know if I'd spend 20 bucks for a shirt, but I might be willing to kick in 5 or lower for a small sticker or keychain or something.

Posted by flySparro Already contacted Av - I've designed four basic stickers but will wait for a go-ahead.

Oh yeah, I have no ambition to make anything larger than maaaaaybe 4". Like if you want a big one for your guitar case or pelican case... but otherwise the main idea would be 2.5"-ish.

Yeah shirts are a harder sell. Their cost of production is high, and even higher if you can't order 200. And if I were to order t-shirts, I'd want them on the right cotton from a decent supplier, not a crappy heat transfer on a rough, cheap or too-heavy material. It'd probably take a test print or two from a few different companies before you found somewhere good - and all the good places have big minimums. The exact opposite being true with places like VistaPrint. They'll send you just one ... and you'll want to send it back.

Same here. A minimalist sticker that would be recognizable to UER members without screaming "Serial Trespasser" would definitely be something I'd be interested in.

Just a picture of a thread lock. Should be able to find plenty of examples on the Northeast forums.

I definitely like the stealth. We are not trespassers, only marine enthusiasts! Also we really should avoid stickers that people are going to leave in locations. That puts out a bad name for all of us. I don’t really know how to prevent it though.
Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not, we never are. But that's not the right question. The question is, are we living a life that is worth the harm? |

Lots of large, public, reputable companies hand out stickers like candy. They know that even though the stickers will end up on flat earthers' vans and in dirty truck stop bathrooms, any publicity is good publicity. Also, the majority of good, intelligent UER members using stickers for regular sticker things, far outnumber the small percentage that will stick them in the view of active CCTV or in a place where a property owner wouldn't otherwise know they had an infiltration problem.

I would argue that this is one area of life in which this axiom doesn't hold water. YMMV.

Hahahaha. Locks are for honest people - so is trying to control who tells who about your website. We're gonna end up in places whether we want to or not. The only saving grace is those that do it poorly usually aren't around very long, and having to buy UER stickers to take to abandonments is kind of a hassle for what it's worth. I see the concern.. the stickers ending up in every abandoned building across North America could start to get dumb and annoying. Perhaps we draft guidelines "These stickers are for public use only" and include them with the stickers. All in all, I think it's still worth it.

True. I know that the Cave Clan had that issue a long time ago, with Cave Clan graffiti in a bunch of prominent drains. Although I don't know if that was looked down upon or not, since I'm not from Australia. Maybe somebody from down under could chime in about this?

Pfffft, everyone knows we're sewerfolk... We're not Detroit or KC, we don't have a ton of abandoned derps to floof around in. Everything here is underground, fool. [insert hipster joke here]
