De Bread Factory

This is one of those spots we passed over many times. Not for any particular reason, it just seemed to be that back up plan that we never ended up needing. My good friend who I usually explore with has a uncle that worked here until they abruptly close in 2004. The spot seemed to rise in popularity late last year, quite a few local explorers had gotten in. We figured it was time to bump the place to the top of our list.

Beautiful set of photos! Looks like a cool place to explore! Was it pretty secure or hasn't it got popular enough to warrant any security measures?

Thank you!! Besides being sealed up pretty good, getting in was a bit interesting, no security measures. The building has been for sale for some time but no longer has power and it seems unlikely it will sell anytime soon.

Thanks man!!

A recycling company was renting the bottom floor from I believe 2008-2010! I would assume the paint was peeling already by that time. The building is structurally good, but obviously it was not very well taken care of even prior to closing.

Here is a shot, taken by a local explorer, from a few years ago. This is the same row of lockers in my B&W photo above.

Thank ya much! The lighting in that spot is excellent. I think every explorer takes this same shot haha. That is moss. We explored in the middle of winter, but there was still quite a bit of moss eking out a existence inside.

Thank you for your kind words as always! I'm glad you enjoyed the set. I don't think I have ever had Wonderbread either. It is still around, Hostess went bankrupt in 2012 and sold it off to another company who is still making it. It was due to Wonderbread that we have the term "best thing since sliced bread".

Hey dude! Didn't know you were on here. I wish I would have gotten in before the graffiti and whatnot. Still was a fun explore!

Thanks man! Yea the POE took us a few minutes to figure out haha. Certainly was a interesting one, didn't help that the whole platform back there was covered in snow and ice. Certainly one I won't forget anytime soon!

Thanks! It's mostly cleared out but it's a pretty big place and there was still some cool things to discover in there.

I think everyone who explores here takes the same shot of the sign up on the roof. It was actually warmer up there than it was in the building haha.
