These are some pictures I took of a neat little homestead up in the mountains near Lake George, CO. It's located on Boy Scouts land, and I was able to access it because I was a summer camp counselor at the camp for a few years. Very neat, only a couple of buildings, nothing crazy. These picture were taken in the summer of 2014, but I visited just a few months ago and everything was exactly the same. Taken with an iPhone 5C so forgive the quality. If you're interested in visiting yourself for whatever reason, contact the Pikes Peak BSA on Fillmore St. in Colorado Springs, Co. Its about an hour drive from the springs area. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Im in Colorado also, and very glad this relic still stands. Most times they move in, and just bulldoze this stuff. Thats a shame.

I actually used to be a staffer at that Boy Scout camp. The actual buildings are part of the BSA property, but sadly I never had the chance to go explore. Glad to see they are standing more recently(ish) than I had last seen.

Any idea as to how old that log cabin possibly is?

Colorado's booming mining era began around 1879 so it would be safe to assume that this would have been constructed between then and 1893 when the price of gold and silver crashed.
