Bay Area/SF Abandoned Depot

Not sure if this has been posted here or not...

Got the tip from a friend of a friend and decided to visit. There was an abandoned factory nearby where there were people still working. Talked to them and they told us to watch out for cops who come around "every now and then, mainly looking for taggers." Also warned us about rodents and other small wildlife. Neither of the two were issues for us, but we were only there for about half an hour.

There was a pretty sizable fence surrounding the area, but nothing that wasn't climbable. Overall pretty cool site, obviously had been inhabited by someone before. Lots of rusted goodies and decade-old cans around.

1.

Point of entry from street. Fences were completely torn down by something/someone. Site is about a mile's walk away.

2.
This whole depot/building is super heavily tagged.

Crop fisheye on full frame body, for those who are wondering.

Flanked by some beautiful, rolling green hills.

Filled in chimney stack about a quarter mile away.

Thanks!

I actually have no clue...was thinking the same when I snapped the photo. Google seems to have a lot of answers that point to overseas crews.

Well, I had a friend go recently and from what he said, they encountered 3rd party security on motorbikes with gaurd dogs.

Security on motorbikes with guard dogs?

Do they wear those cool German helmets with the spike on top and have the dogs riding in sidecars attached to motorbike? And are these dogs undoubtedly German Shepherds? And is their 3rd party the Nazi Party?😂

And is one of the dogs cool, and named Spot?😅

My fiancé and made it there a few months ago. No sign of any security. Missed the tunnel and the chimney though.

I'm doubting very much that there are guard dogs and motorcycle terminator security people trying to keep people out of this dump. This place is thrashed and its already burned down once. and further on up the tracks they had another fire a few years ago. lets see some photographic proof and not secondary stories heard by friends who may or may not have gone.

I used to live right down the road from this. I always wondered what that concrete block-like structure was in the first shot.

Did you go east a bit into the field and see the remains of the old trainyard? There isnt much there other than some pads and track placements, but still kind of neat.

I like Urbex.

I'm thinking of paying the depot a visit soon. A couple questions:

- I keep seeing photos of a giant abandoned warehouse next to the main depot (see first image here: http://imgur.com/a/hlga9). Is this on the same property, or is it separate? Also worth visiting? Similar amount of risk?

- Have any of you seen drone racers in the area? There's lots of cool videos online. Nice to see a group of enthusiasts other than photographers getting into UE.

Thanks in advance!
- bt

The warehouse next door only looks abandoned. There were people there starting very early in the morning and you are visible to them, so beware. It also may be inhabited as there was a makeshift dwelling and I encountered at least one noise trap.

Ah, spent the last 30 minutes or so researching. Looks like you're right. That building belongs to PG&E or whatever the next property over is.

Forgive my novice -- noise trap?

Heads up to all of you the local Fire Dept responded to a brush fire out here on Thursday.

Like I've said before. The only way more cops are going to catch people around here is if stupid people keep setting shit on fire.

Just a note, the warehouse is definitely not abandoned. We were spotted and approached. The people that work there are very friendly and gave us advice/tips but made it a point that if we were to do anything on their property, the appropriate authorities would be contacted.

I may have missed the train yard although I do remember seeing a lot of rubble/materials in one part of our visit.
