Symbol identification

I was wondering if anyone could help with the identification of this symbol? I had explored this location a little while back and did a few internet searches and didn't come up with much. So I tried to dismiss it but it keeps nagging at me for some reason.

I know that crosses with a circle behind them are usually Celtic crosses, but that small bar on the bottom has me stumped. Maybe it's not meant to be religious at all, and is a company symbol or something.

This is a small building on a large textile mill property built in the late 1800s. I believe they had staff housing for their workers and even a "company store" on site. This particular building had a few large card catalogs in it as if it were a library, but no books. It also had an overturned piano.

Thanks in advance for any help you may have to offer, and I apologize if this is in the wrong spot on the forums. This is only my second post ever (how long do I get to ride the noob train before I'm held accountable for my ignorance?) ;)

No idea what the symbol is, but nice spot. I love the brickwork in these old industrial buildings, and that damned green paint...

It's a Serbian Cross. It can be found on Moldovan and Romanian flags. I have no idea about the line on the bottom though. No such insignia exists with the line. I can only surmise it's an artistic addition.

I found this image in my searching a couple days ago. It's an "evangelization cross"? I'd never heard of it. But it supposedly symbolizes Christ over the world. I don't know if the symbol on the door has anything to do with that either. Maybe it was some kind of union symbol? Maybe it's some kind of crafting emblem with a hammer? Illuminati?

I joked with my friend that it's probably just the back to a fancy sign and means nothing at all haha I don't think I'll ever know. Thanks for the insight!

Oh snap! He's going to have to find himself a new place to bring his victims, that mill is getting gutted and repurposed.

Seriously, though. That's he closest thing I've seen to that symbol.

It appears that the symbol represents various White Supremacy groups. Even the foreign flags I discussed above are from Neo-Nazi organizations in the two countries I mentioned. Chances are really good this is just an iron-worker's mid-century fence/gate embellishment but one never knows.

I just did this and it says "best guess: pig hunting" bah hahaha.

I'm sure it's tricky because of the bars behind the symbol.

It's illegal to display a swastika in a lot of European countries, that's how the circle cross came into use.

There's also the "blood drop cross".

It could also be totally non-racist like the barred cross used by the Orthodox Church. Look on top of the dome.

Looks a lot like a Zodiac Cross

Sometimes called a Peagan cross (not the Egyptian one).

My bet is a simplified Irish cross.

Any hints from ethnicity/nationality for who built the structure?

They just recently published an article about the renovations going on in this mill and here is an excerpt from it. I know we're not supposed to post locations so I cropped it ^_^

articlee by madamejennofwood, on Flickr

It was pretty rad to read a bit about the history of all the buildings I explored on this property, I wish I had gotten to do that before I went! Of course, if I had gone after this article was published the mill would have been mostly gutted and I would have missed out on a lot of the awesomeness. The building with this door had library card catalogs in it so I'm not really sure if it was a library or a church or both ^_^
