Yeah, but they were 15 and 18. You KNOW they were logically up to no good. I don't think they were urban exploring. They probably were also rude to the officer leading to being "taken into custody." These are obviously a lot of assumptions but I was once young...

I've ran into some 16 year old explorers that had more respect for authority, humans in general, and the locations than some of the long time members of this site

Prying off a boarded window is B&E. In broad daylight. Dopes.
Sounds like the cops gave them a break? The 18 yo will be lucky if additional felony charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and B&E aren't added.
I predict a rough ride for him... learn from his mistakes.

My 1st question was why is an 18 year old hanging out with a 15 year old?

Hey wait, I know this place. I was visiting my brother a few years ago and he had to come here for something or other, I don't even remember what, but I had enough free time while waiting for him that I ended up slipping in the basement window of one of the buildings while nobody was looking. I didn't get far though, the door at the top of the stairs was locked and I didn't feel like going too far down the tunnels and getting lost (or found).

One of my best friends and favorite exploring companions is about a decade older than me. Come to think of it, I had plenty of 18 year old friends when I was 15. How else was I going to get my cigarettes?

One of my oldest explore buddies (as in time we've spent exploring places) is old enough to be my father.

One of my best exploring buddies is a 40 year old woman.

Granted an 18 year old and a 15 year old are probably up to no good but age doesn't really mean much.

I agree age is a number and some are wiser than their years, but probably not this two
Legally those under 18 can be a huge liability for those over 18 if a crime is committed.
Sucks to be a kid today. I was raising holy hell well into my 20s.
Lol, if I did that today I be in state prison. I regret none of it...

I agree totally, thats why personally I am wary about taking anyone aged under 18 out on an explore because there are a whole load of other issues that go along with simple immaturity.

Thanks for the legal lesson on B&E but my statement wasn't saying the kid was fine for doing that. It was a general statement that there are a lot of shitbags past and present everywhere age doesn't matter. I used be a security guard at an abandoned state hospital, I've seen some 50 year olds do more obvious dumb stuff then kids

I agree, just because you're older doesn't make you respectful.
Many criminals get worse with age. He's off to a fine start...

So because you were once young, obviously and and all 18 and 15 year olds are "logically up to no good"? C'mon now.

If you were to advance their ages some 10-15 years would they still be up to no good, or just doing UE like most people on this site do?

I agree. Age isnt a factor in regards to urbexing. My dad got me into urbexing when I was 8. Probably even younger. So I grew up with a respect of old buildings and their history. Even when I was 16 I would urbex with my brother. Sure we would have our fun but not as far as vandalism. No destruction, graffiti, or violent acts. we did move an old a/c unit and have part of it make a loud pop sound. Its all about awareness and teaching kids to respect landmarks of the past.
