I went to the DC Archives and made copies of hundreds of vintage pics of one of our favorite locations. I hope these are okay to post. This place is notoriously hard to find information on from when it was in operation. As far as I know, none of these pictures have ever been on the web.1.

That's really cool! It's really interesting to see these buildings as they were originally constructed, and then examine how they were altered over time, especially the admin building.

Nice find. When it was alive...
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

It was alive from 1927-1991. These pictures are mostly 1929-1935ish.

Still is a nice find, actually. Yeah it's been beaten up, vandalized, and burned on a regular basis but the property has a lot to offer for any visitor. Patient records, morgues, playgrounds, dental equipment, desks, beds and much more can still be found there. I go there regularly, it doesn't bore me at all.

Sadly you are right. Just 3 years ago, the Chapel remained graffiti free albeit a bit vandalized. Now almost every building has been tagged. The most recent fire was this past January.

These are awesome.
Buildings have two natural enemies- water, and bears. |

These are sick dude! It's great to see what the campus looked like before it turned into a total shit hole
