However, if the site is completely abandoned and noone cares, just stroll up with your camera and tripod like you own the place. I say this because sometimes you can't exactly stroll up to a security guarded site. Or, if you are really feeling it, buy a ghillie suit. Wear it, crawl across the field or a crouched run and take it off once you get to the entrance.
