Tactical infiltration advice(For a location I'm hitting very soon)

Long and short of it- The place is a unseen insertion NIGHTMARE. The front has a thin treeline, on the other side a very busy highway that also flanks over to the left side without the treeline. The back is a 100yrd OPEN field with low grass and no cover in between, the right side has optimal treeline with a 50yrd dash across open fields, but literally two blocks away from a police post (All on highway/country sides) The building in question is multi-storied with a separate complex that could be made in a mere double digit second count, but again: open field.

((I do not own anything to make me look like an official, cannot go at night/early morning))

Is it just a gamble regardless?

Why can't you pre-dawn it?

If it is abandoned I would say that you should just sprint it in dark clothes and most likely the people on the highway will not care or not see you/don't want to call the police.

If it is an active building that people know is clearly no trespassing then I would say just pick up a hard hat(or borrow) and grab a clipboard with a pen and walk up to the building super nonchalant in a shitty dress shirt.

Otherwise, sprint and hope for the best. I guess army crawling could be an option.

My advice then.. get to know more explorers whether it be here or somewhere else. Then maybe someone has been to this place and knows a better way. Sometimes it just takes time. Either with other explorers or the actual place. ;) Just don't break the rules and ask for handouts.

On GE, I'm noticing some mixed little dips, probably drainage line that I might crawl along. This place is way to cool to pass up

Hmm, if you decided to go during daytime, I'd just casually walk to it from the side facing the highway. Highway drivers might be less likely to spot it / think about it much than people driving on slower streets. And trespassers don't casually walk, do they? I don't know how many times I've casually walked to a site, just KNOWING that people are watching me, only to get there and turn around to realize I probably wasn't even noticed.

Those are my theories, at least.

I've been in contact with a guy that's done this place once, but he managed to go on a holiday where traffic was next to none, and has given AWESOME details like fence opening s and stuff to get me in once I've cleared the way, it's just getting to said fence

Eh, sorry about that. Most threads on topics I -need- info on seem dead or deriving way off topic. Just wanting to cram all the info in between the lulls in exploring

Lol, being spotted low crawling in a ditch is a sure way to get a 911 call.

I'm seeing an angle that cuts along the corner of it... Should go unseen unless neighbors see me from their back window. However, I think either way I kind of drew the short end of the shit stick on approaches

Agreed, and if you are super worried about getting seen, just stick around right inside the POE for 20-30 minutes and see if there is any response. If someone does come, attempt to get out before they see you are actually inside and claim you were just wandering around on the grounds

Easter Sunday might be a good time to go. I would go the highway side and casually walk to it. I don't think most the highway drivers are going to care. I would dress normal and not run or act suspicious.

Insertion???

Dude, seriously, you're totally over-thinking this.

Bring a camera on a tripod, stand out in the open in plain view, just super obvious, and slowly, gradually, make your way over to the building. Once you're close enough, wait for a lull in traffic, or whatever, and bounce inside.

Seriously. Doesn't even matter if there's anything actually worth photographing, "artists" can be like that, taking derpy pictures of stupid shit for a project, or whatever.

Even that's overkill, sometimes. No one out driving in the world gives two shits what you're doing if you're not impacting them. Neighbors can be different, so be mindful of the locals, but just... get out there and get in there. Daytime is a great time to be in a building - you can see all the holes in the floor and you're not inadvertently shining a flashlight at the windows, advertising your presence.

I'm a "Leave only footprints, take only pornography" kind of guy, myself.

I agree that you're probably over-thinking this.

If you have a decent camera. just walk up with it and take exterior and location shots. Go in when no one is around. If anyone confronts you, you're obviously just taking pictures of an old building and you'll probably be fine.

If photos aren't your thing, just take your chances walking/running up on the location or find the time to pre-dawn the place. I agree that skulking through the drainage ditch is a good way to make yourself look REALLY suspicious, so don't do that.
