Candy Corn State Hospital
entry by keti

The other day we finally decided to check out this new place (see: http://www.uer.ca/forum_showthread.asp?fid=1&threadid=11016).
So we parked in the woods (which my little car had trouble handling ) and headed over. We got to our entrance, the sliding doors. But they wouldn't open. With a makeshift crowbar we eventually got in. We walked around the emergency room, where we come across a sort of control panel, which we figured was for the fire alarm. Someone had spraypainted the word "ACTIVE" above it, but we thought little of that. we knew there was power. Didn't stop us any. On the panel, there were a bunch of little green lights next to the word "trouble". For some reason we thought this meant disabled. We are retarded. So we decided to look for a staircase. Walking down the main hallway and towards the lights, we hear a few cars zoom by. There shouldn't be any cars. This hospital is surrounded by trees. No one should be there. FUCK. As we get into the hallway with the lights, we finally hear the alarm going off. Fuck fuck fuck. How long has it been going off without us noticing it?! We run around some more, trying to figure out what to do. We run to the back of the hospital to an emergency door. "Alarm will sound if door is opened". Well fuck, it's already going off, and the cops are already here. With some hesitation, we push the door open and run for the woods. We did it, we're safe. We made it.

So we get back to the car and decided to hit a state hospital. good ole' non-alarmed, non-powered, condemned state hospital..

that is wonderful.... really, though, you should go back and just park your car further away. do it soon before the owner blocks your entrance. did you see any good places to hide? you can always find a window above where the guy goes in to shut off the alarm, or where you think the owner might come in, and watch. if somebody comes in, hide the hell out of yourselves. the security guys dont really give a crap about what set off the alarm -- theyre concerned with making the call, turning it off, and leaving a bill

anyway, if the alarm keeps going off, and since its in a wooded area.. depending on how they have their alarm system set up, they might just brush it off as a squirrel. or something rabid. you know.

sounds exciting, though. <3 keti!!

They sometimes bring dogs though...Find out if they do while you are outside the building.

I have never known the cops around my area to use dogs or to really make any attempts at going into the building. The worst they do is circle around for 30 minutes with a spotlight on entrances. Oooh, scary.

I'm more worried about wild dogs. There's one asylum we have to walk through a conservation to get to. About a half-hour walk in woods where wild dogs are known to live. I'm not worried about getting arrested too much. Whatever happens, happens. i just don't want to be mauled to death by wild animals :X

Why not bring some sausages, etc. with you? Maybe you could befriend the wild dogs.

That's a good idea, I'll make myself a mental note:
