So this is what I would call my first real foray into Urb-ex, and I gotta say it was a bit of a kick into it. I learned of this place whilst browsing through the basic member database and went, holy shit an actual location that isn't demolished or infested with hobos! I grabbed my camera, ready to snap some awesome photos(they're pretty shite honestly) and have a look around.
Except for this one, I'm somewhat proud of it actually. Anyways, this place is essentially a huge expanse of concrete with a few building at the far end of the complex, which I did not go into(I went solo and didn't want to do anything too questionable for my first go).
The area had obviously been smashed up a bit by vagrants, glass lay shattered and there was graffiti everywhere. I found this interesting circle of beds with a fridge up against the wall, but given the atmosphere I felt it best not to investigate any further into that.
It was in this building, or the identical one across from it. Can't exactly remember, but you get the point. I returned to this location about a week or so later with a buddy of mine for some late-night adventuring, and for some odd reason we could hear Spanish music playing from the guard house at the very far end of the old parking lot(might have actually been the fed-ex guardhouse now that I think about it) and made sure to steer clear of that. Still didn't go into those buildings, but we did climb onto the top of one for an interesting perspective.
I'm a professional photographer, I know.
So mature. I'll post a full gallery of the pictures I took on this trip, so if you have any questions or comments about any of them go ahead and let me know!

Since you're new I can understand your hesitation regarding "homeless encounters". There are a few threads on this as well as other sketchy situations so check out the Rookie Forum as well. You also should buy the book Access All Areas - it's considered the URBEX bible and a must read for any explorer. My experience with homeless people has run the gamut from drinking, smoking and touring facilities to outright physical and verbal conflict. You never know what you're going to get but I always try to reach out to them (but at a distance initially if possible). You may have missed out on some great shots by not going into that room. My advice is always carry pepper spray, have it ready, and call out if you think someone may be on the location (except security guards...). These guys generally know locations better than anyone and can help you out a lot. Good 1st showing. Keep it up, have fun and be safe!

I really love that first photo in your set, btw! EDIT: Shoot me a PM if you go back, perhaps I can make a few suggestions, it is quite large, after all...

Dang, i never did get a chance to get out there. I knew it wasn't going to be much longer before it would be gone, but still couldn't wrangle a visit before it happened.
