Posted by uLiveAndYouBurn It's sad that humanity has collectively decided that cheap chocolate and coffee are more important than keeping wild orangutans a thing.
I have not heard about this are cacao and coffee producers destroying the forest now?
I know about dolphin free tuna now I have to look for orangutan free coffee WTF?
Yeah a massive deforestation campaign in Indonesia for coffee and palm oil plantations. If you haven't seen the video of the momma orangutan try to take on a backhoe with a stick as it smashes her home tree, and lose, you're better off.
Palm oil is used mostly in the cheaper chocolate like what you find in candy bars like snickers or reese's cups. Buy the expensive high cacao content just chocolate bars and it probably won't have palm oil in it.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.
