Dear photographer friends... I would like to collaborate with you on a project very dear to my heart. Many years ago I began a project called 'Hypothetical Corpse' in which I posed dead in photographs all over the city of Vancouver. This was a direct response to my constant obsession with suicide that has recently been diagnosed as Suicidal Ideation. Hypo-corpsing allowed me to live out my fantasy in a relatively healthy manner; a victory lap of sorts. It took off on Flickr and many followed suit, taking their moment to briefly die and share it with the world. This preceded planking which blew up in 2009 but is by no means a brand new idea as images of this nature date back almost as long as photography itself. My hope is that you will help me bring this project back to life. I'm looking to collaborate with photographers that will use me as their corpse in any manner they wish in a scene all their own. The eventual use of the images is still up in the air, with a small gallery show featuring 9 images planned, as well as an eventual self published book of hypo-corpse images if we can't find an interested publisher. Urbex themes are not mandatory and creativity is encouraged. Signing a contract permitting credited use of the images in any medium is mandatory of course. Peaked anyone's interest? Holler.

I wish you well for this.

Why thank you. Lots of overall interest but I'd like to get some urbexers involved as well.

WTF. Suicidal Ideation? I had to look this up as I've never heard of it before. From what I've read, what you want to do seems completely counterintuitive to combating this condition. I'm glad that it seems to help but I would hope that this isn't your only treatment plan. As far as the photography goes, it certainly seems like a cool idea. Kinda like the hot well dressed chick in an abandonment. My only caution would be that you no take this too seriously as it can lead to a very dark and destructive place. Best of luck to you and I hope it all works out.

Cheers for even commenting on the issue as most people just steer away from such dark areas. And thanks for your concern but of course this is not my only treatment plan, I have an amazing support system around me including family friends and trusted members of the medical community. I actually only hypo-corpse when I'm in a positive place, when in depressed states I'd never even consider faking it. I know that there are a significant many of you that don't like me, and that's fine. But I'm a survivor of mental illness, abandonment, molestation, suicide attempts, overdoses and addiction. I am not ashamed to be me and I won't hide my darkness in the shadows. Even if you've treated me negatively in the past, or still detest me, I hold no hard feelings and wish each and every one of you the very best, genuinely. So many of you are such great photographers and I would be overjoyed to work with you on this project that is blossoming quickly.
