I've hiked near this place and I took note of it to do some research. These towers don't look like any radio towers I've ever seen. They don't show up as a cell tower the Ertyu database, and they're probably too short to be cell anyway (the shorter one is 30-40ft max). My guess is that they're for weather monitoring or something. Any other ideas on what they might be or thoughts on whether they'd be safe to climb? I grabbed this image from Google StreetView.

Pretty sure the domed tower is a doppler for weather

Thanks for the info. Do you guys know if Doppler equipment emits harmful radiation or anything?

Weather radar transmits at frequencies of 3GHz, which is well into the microwave frequency range, at around 1.56kW. It's a directional transmitter, but within the domes you can't see which way the transmitter is pointing, thus you can't easily stay out of the transmit beam. I would steer clear of it.

Thanks Archer, I guess I'll pass on this one.

Some info about your tower is probably somewhere in here. Here's a page describing how to use that tool. I haven't used it myself so I can't be more helpful.

Iv seen those towers too and wondered the same. The shorter tower is out of service from what iv noticed. Frequencies in the UHF band come through crystal clear which makes me believe its got equipment for repeating.

Bell has 18 cell antennas on it in the 60-65m height range. It is definitely not too short to be a cell tower (I've worked on tower approvals from 14m-105m tall).

Thanks for these links. The site gave two results for the coordinates and here they are: 1. Tx Frequency: 149.44MHz. Frequency Status: 6. Station Location: ---, ONT. RPTR Site. Licensee Name: Her Majesty The Queen in Right of The Province of Ontario (GMCB ). 2. Tx Frequency: 414.4125MHz. Rx Frequency: 419.4125MHz. Frequency Status: 6. Station Location: ---, ONT. RPTR Site. Licensee Name: Her Majesty The Queen in Right of The Province of Ontario (GMCB ). What do you guys make of this? Are these things dangerous? (Thanks for all the input so far btw)
