The Peterborough Jail demo is underway...

And tonight I pulled up to revisit the old Mustang Drive-In only to come across an empty field...

Oh Brother, Where Art Thou... Been? Bummer about both of those locations, but on teh flip side, those links also make me realize how much I miss your writing and presentations.

Thanks GS. The admiration is mutual, your threads keep me coming back.

I've been invited to return to the Peterborough County Jail whenever I want throughout the demolition process. This has been granted (thanks to yokes getting my foot in the door) because the foreman and some members of his crew are fans of my blog, with special interest in Millbrook Jail. Pretty cool.

So I spent the afternoon inside today documenting the destruction. A gaping hole in the wall revealed the jail building that hadn't been seen by the public in over 140 years. Equipment filled the yard and wooden beams were being stripped and thrown from the roof. Everything is being kept by the demo crew for reuse, I was told as I stood on the roof chatting with the boys. The roof will be gone by the end of the week likely and the ranges and staircases were frozen solid.

Just about to check today's pics out. Will throw some up here in a bit.

Holler quick if you want in, time is running out.

Didn't have time to add any images when I first posted the link but the full post with update is in the OP.

Here's a handful of shots from the update from the demo site as of yesterday...

Read your entire post, well written and very candid for a public site. Great job Jerm.
