I actually visited this place again recently with another forum member and once again we stumbled into some of the homeless living in the area. A woman told us that the residents of the building are pretty hostile towards outsiders mainly due to theft. Not like explorers would want to steal from them, but it's worth noting that in this area in particular, any exploration means you're encroaching on what they call their home.

I went on two occasions. First occasion, I opened a door and stumbled into a squatter/tweeker's home and he was screaming and not happy. The second time was better. Ran into a few shady individuals and a couple thought my friend and I were cops for a second but no one was angry.

I still plan to return as I haven't made it to the 3rd floor or roof, but when I go back I'm going to bring food, bottled water, and/or cigarettes as a peace offering.

Meh, don't forget your wallet. They might want that too.
If you need to bring a peace offering, you shouldn't be there.

I never do this. First it ties up your hands, and puts you in striking distance for a knife attack.
It also sends the message that "I'm easy" to a would be mugger.
If they fuck with me I want them to know they're in for a rough ride up front; no free rides.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

Almost forgot. We tried opening the door to the roof but someone was holding it closed from the other side. At first I thought it was stuck, but when i tried pulling really hard someone screamed in pain from the other side so I did not want to deal with an angry tweeker so my friend and I just decided it was time to leave. Be very careful. I would not at all ever recommend going alone. Or going at all lol it has some cool art but the place is thrashed.

Been there three times now and each time there's different POEs. Hard to believe, but this place is getting worse quickly. Some more spray, but mostly it's just getting gutted and trashed by the residents.

This has been a fascinating thread. I'm amazed at how long it's been active. I kind of wish I'd seen it when I was in the Bay Area this past thanksgiving, even though it sounds like the risk:reward ratio for this location might be a little off by now.

It might still be standing by the time you're back, but I can't stress enough how important it is to not go alone. It's like its own city in there, with its own residents and its own rules.

I second this. Going alone is the dumbest thing you can do. Not only that, but do not go at night either. This place is EXTREMELY shady. I went in for ten minutes alone at night and that was enough for me to run into trouble. Be weary of anyone inside also. Don't get close to anyone. The riskier part of this explore isn't getting caught, but running into some trouble inside. Many scrappers, homeless people, and drug junkies. Look out for syringes too. I didn't see any but I'm sure there are some around d.

There have been some recent nekkid lady shoots done there very recently. As evidenced on ModelMayhhem.

Oddly enough they didn't have too many problems, but maybe because it was daytime.

Was there this weekend. I second that it's not really abandoned as we encountered close to 100 different people. Absolutely do not go alone or late in the day!
