Okay I'm a younger guy so I got my whole life ahead of me. Now I can trespass into most places no problem..but high risk ones? There are people here saying they've been arrested and put in jail, even felony charges. Is it really worth the risk of potentially ruining your life for a location? Maybe if I was rich and a billionaire..then I'd be okay with it lol

Active bases fall under federal trespassing laws.
Up to a $10G fine and 5 years in federal prison.
A retainer alone for an attorney in a criminal federal case will run you $6G.

Or $7G if you're from another state than the one you were cited in. I am all too familiar with the federal bullshit. Ironically, I was not doing what I had been accused of, trespassing included (a game warden can really make your life hell if they want to), and all of the charges were dismissed. But not until after I had to fork over 7 grand for an attorney and drive out-of-state three separate times for court appearances. There are no case transfers and you'll be driving/flying to that court for every single appearance until the case is dismissed, dropped, or dealt with in less desirable ways.
I don't fuck with federal property because I know what they can do to you. It's not worth it.

I have had many run-ins with the authorities while exploring. Two times I actually got arrested for burglary. One of them was particularly bad. It ended up costing me about $8,000 and my reputation for work in that area (I work freelance and a lot of people in the area wont work with me anymore because of it).
The repercussions of this hobby can be much worse than people think.

I just had a pretty intense encounter a few days ago. While leaving an abandoned neighbourhood with a GoPro on my helmet, a security guard stopped me and managed to get the keys to my scooter. He didn't like that I was taking video of an area, even though it was still technically a public street with other people coming by and cars parked around, so he called the cops. Four cop cars showed up and I showed them my ID including one that identifies me as a newspaper employee. They slowly switched their story from "you can't do this" to "you can but you should ask for permission" and sent me on my way. Didn't even delete the GoPro footage, though I plan on keeping that offline.

Never thought I see a post like this from you in Korea.
You always seem like you're coated with Teflon.
Stateside cops can't legally ask you to delete images, no idea about the laws in Korea though.
Sounds like you played it well and made the right decisions... sometimes even when you are in the right it's better not to step on toes especially with cops.
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.
