Sooooo the attendance to the meets has been pretty lackluster. Usually it's just me and Deuterium, and then occasionally another random person. I need opinions on making this have a better turn out. Right now, I'm leaning towards making them every 3-4 months instead of every month. I made them on Sundays to make it better for everyone but that obviously hasn't worked and I might try to change it to Saturday or something. I also plan on changing the location to a pub or restaurant of some kind (Killer Burger or Henry's or something). Give me feedback guys, I can't do this without you!!!

I would say Fri/Sat would be a better choice for people in general. Are you guys going out and exploring after?

I have been meaning to make it but parking downtown is a nightmare I always talk myself out of it. Hoping to make it January or February when I'm back from China

Interested; and I love to ride the train!

Parking pretty much anywhere in Portland isn't fun haha but I can try to move it out of downtown, to at least the other side of the river. We have explored after about half the time but when there isn't a large turnout, it's kind of demotivating.

What spot on the other side of the river would you all want to meet? I know of a few bars on the east side, but I live in Gresham and I'm not super familiar with that area.

I suggest that the new location be near a light-rail line. Exploring in winter can get pretty nasty (tho it's still worth doing). Taking a break until March might be a good idea.

I live in Troutdale, but I'm sure you can google addresses Abroham. Ganesha, I can definitely do something off the MAX line, although all the locations in downtown Portland were right off the line too. I can think of a couple cool and quiet restaurants in the Gresham that aren't too far from the Gresham Central mall area. I'll think about it, I'm going to delete the event for now though until I can hash out some details.

If there is one on Sunday I can come! But yeah it would have to be near a light rail.
When there is tranquility, you are in the right place. When there are no footprints, you are on the right path. When there are no tire tracks, you are on the right road. |

For the location: I was thinking Mall 205 area. It's a central location with easy parking and right off the max. for the time: Saturday afternoons have been brought up..leaves light in the day to explore afterwards. Cherokee I know you said Sunday but will Sat work for you too? Is this negotiable?

But you're usually underground, where it's a nice, toasty ~50 degrees Farenheit! ;]

Here are a few suggestions: Mcmenamin's, Chipotle or Buffalo Wild Wings by L10yd Ctr. Burger King at SE Grand & SE Hawthorne Blvd. It might actually be good until we get the balls rolling. It's usually not crowded inside and this location is quite roomy. My Fthrs bar SE Grand Ave & Stark is also a chill place. They're all right off of Light Rail and centrally located for everyone from the metro area. There are hotels along the street car and this area is a breeze to connect from Amtrak, Greyhound and the airport if anyone's visiting from out of town. I like the idea of noon ish on Sat or Sunday, just so there's daylight if there's exploration after the meetup.

If you guys do a weekend meetup. I'll definitely drive up. Just trying to make the 4 1/2 hour drive on a weekday would be killer.

If there is renewed interest, I can organize another meeting. It would be about that time anyways.
