1. Post your work in the UE Photo Critiques forum.
2. Discount someone's opinion because he's too experienced and knowledgeable.
3. Accuse someone else of being an illiterate misogynist by bringing up your trigger words.
4. Hide behind your dog's death to deflect further criticism.

It's a little too late for Christmas if you were looking to crucify yourself. What a mess. Well, at least we can save time on all future Full Member decisions.

^^ 90% of the blog posts i made recently are abt my dog who just passed away n my clinical depression so it really shows how cruel you are to scroll past all that and then just call me stupid/find a post to mock me.. mayb try developing some empathy?

Sorry about your dog that part is terrible absolutely. But it still doesn't change the fact that you posted a bunch of photos in a critique thread and yet you didn't want to take criticism nor advice nor honesty. Thinking you are some sort of goddess because you post on tumblr and shit on people who give you advice? No you can fuck off. So when you act like a little shit and people say shit back, you deserve that. You might think you own the internet but you don't... but on that note you are kind of cute :-* a/s/l???

Ok everyone...

As tempting as it might be now to simply cut loose... I think we do need to keep in mind that things can-and-do get out of control beyond what we can envision as acceptable consequences. I kindly suggest we just leave this misguided kid alone. I think both the contents of this thread and her Tumblr is more than enough context for us to judge the situation for what it is and not take anything here seriously, much less personally.

This thread might benefit from a lockdown.

Oh come on. UER hasn't had this much entertainment in a while. This is a good one.

lol .... i posted them bcus most of the other responses to critique forms were encouraging n helpful but the ones i got were, "none of these shots were worth shooting. they're not artistic. they have no subject. google basic photography advice. invest in expensive equipment. " like all of that is unhelpful bcus i was specifically going for a dreamy nostalgic shoot that looked more personal n gritty. i did not want everything to be perfectly composed. i am not attracted to super rigid straight lines that most urbex photographers are really into and i was assuming people would be accepting of different styles/feelings/moods in photographs. i did put thought into that set and i liked how it turned out and so did nearly 700 other people. my whole goal w photography is to film beautiful things that people can connect w bcus it seems like memories from their past. which is why mine look more amateur/snapshottish -- because thats what you see in family photo albums. it is an art form, it doesn't have to be a rigid logical movement filled with perfect composition n lighting etc. it is subjective. i've seen very few pictures by the people who criticized me that i connected with on an emotional level or an aesthetic level. so it's hard to take people's advice seriously when people are being cruel/patronizing to me and i do not even resonate with their work. & this quickly turned from a "critique" into an attack Because i was brushing off critiques that weren't helpful to me...

Then why did you even bother asking for advice in the first place? It seems you have all the answers already.

I'm sorry but I don't have empathy for children who make assess of themselves on the internet and think it's okay. When I was 15 I did that and someone actually called my house and spoke to my mom. I was horrified. Good thing she was drunk and doesn't remember it. It definitely changed how I presented myself on the internet though.

For that reason, I think minors on the internet are fair game. If you're going to act like an ass, you're going too get treated like an ass. It's like spanking child. As adults, we have the obligation to show minors anything they say on the internet can and will be used against them. It may actually help them prevent real online privacy threats in the future.

Yes, and the first couple replies you got had helpful advice. You reacted to them with hostility, and look where that got you. Did you just post in here looking for reaffirming praise?

Yes, I did read it to confirm how disrespectful you were to members who were offering useful advice that would improve your photography.

Did you read anything I wrote? Consider this your warning that you better start respecting people on this forum, especially when they provide you with solicited feedback, or you won't be around here long enough to get rejected for full membership.
