I think you took my original comment and blew it way out of proportion and made it something it wasn't. If you are like this online I can only imagine how you are in person, that being said I think you may find life hard.

Someone saying "you would have got busted at that place" =/= "you're an idiot who can't avoid security" and reading it that way is for sure patently stupid.

So that must be my fault, or I'm just stupid for considering an insult an insult. My mistake I guess.

Comments like SS made are commonplace on UER.

Doesn't make it right and doesn't mean I have to like it. I also have a bad habit of calling them like I see them. Maybe that's just stupid too . . . .

Outsider looking in here: if you took SS' original comment as an insult, you should probably voluntarily close up shop on your UER account before you inevitably get angry at yet another completely benign, normal reply to a thread like this. Someone saying "you would have got busted at that place" =/= "you're an idiot who can't avoid security" and reading it that way is for sure patently stupid.

Comments like SS made are commonplace on UER. You've been here for at least a year, maybe you shouldn't fault the community for expecting you to have read a few threads over the course of that time. Christ, he was just trying to give you a heads up.

Agreed. If OP is that easily offended by absolutely nothing, then he's not going to make it very far in life. I was shaking my head all the way through that uhhmm... rebuttal.

You know - if that's the case, then I don't have an issue stepping up and saying "Sorry man - I guess I made a mistake." So, Sorry I guess I made a mistake.

Your comment was what it was. How someone takes it is up the them. I took it as an insult, and I still consider it an insult. I guess it's possible you didn't intend it that way so that's fine.

As far as me having a difficult time in life, nothing could be further from the truth. If you're having as much fun as I am you're doing ok !

OR, you could... y'know... maybe read some of the ridiculous BULLSHIT that you typed in to your own thread here and grow the hell up.

K... whatever.

But the problem with your (more than obvious) long... drawn out diatribe is that you come across like a real asshole, dude.

And I would NOT be surprised if other people reading this couldn't back me up.

Stop trying to act like a know-it-all punk and just be cool, instead!

Sorry for sending this thread off somewhere it never should have gone. I'll get it back on track now, but in the future - if you post something in one of my threads that I might take as insulting or rude, you're going to hear about it. That's human nature. If you don't want to hear about it simply keep your comment to yourself. How I perceive a comment that's directed at me and how I respond to it is no one's business but my own. If you think what I post here is "BULLSHIT" move along to another thread. No one is making you read it. If no one reads my posts eventually I'll move on down the dusty trail. From time to time I see something here that someone else shared, sometimes they help me get out and see it for myself, sometimes not. Regardless, that's the only reason I post here too. I'm not here to piss anyone off, or to be pissed off but shit happens. So, moving on:

As far as this location goes - I still don't know what to make of it. Others are still pm'ing, texting and calling me with their horror stories about the place. I saw little attempt to secure it and had no issues. That's all I can say about it, and it was worth the trip. I was a little disappointed at the time because I think (once again) I had unrealistic expectations of what the place was going to be like and as usual, it didn't stack up. But it's worth checking out if you get the chance.

I also went today, with no issues whatsoever. I did see the security truck outside the building a few times during the day, though.

Hey, I was just recently in both these locations - I was able to get a shitload of pictures from the first location (I was inside for like three hours) but I need to go through and process them.

I didn't have any issues with the approach, entry, or anything else. It's surprisingly un-vandalized inside, but the weather has really taken its toll on the place. There's also a cool stable building to the south of the hotel that I got some pictures of before making my approach.

And yeah, the second location is in really, really terrible shape. I got some interesting pictures, but it would've been really cool to get some shots that didn't include horrendous destruction in every frame.

It's funny to see someone else taking recent pictures of these places, because I got some shots of exactly the same things - like the ironing board with the clothes still on it. How can you not take a picture of something like that.

I posted a couple shots I took at these places over in the photography forum and I'll put up more when I'm done sorting through them.

I don't know, I saw plenty of tags around in there. Not compared to Penn Hills, but it's there. You're definitely right about the weather damage though. The place is a mess.

Well, un-vandalized in a relative sense, I suppose. I noticed a particularly large amount of tagging in the basement and to a lesser extent around the building. Still, not too bad for a place that's been abandoned for 24 years.

But yeah, it's basically rotting from the top down. Too bad - it's a really cool structure.

number 9 im astonished has no graffiti!!

And fuck BH, hate that place. It was decent years ago (2009), before they cleaned out the new section but the trouble with the place is not worth it.

My second trip I was on the top floor on the old side, and I was surprised to run into the caretaker who didn't even know I was there...needless to say he wasn't very happy to see me.
