San Diego - Arizona Railway
< on 11/17/2015 3:37 AM >

There was once an operational railway that was built from San Diego to Arizona. Once thought impossible to construct - the contractors believed it could be done and thus built the worlds largest wooden rail road bridge stretching across what is known as Goat Canyon. The rails have since been abandoned for a long time. There are remnants of the past laying about however, if you know where to look along this long stretch of hot desert and empty tracks.

I'll be going back to take the long trek to the goat canyon bridge and photograph that journey as well. I hear there are train cars from Korea out there on the tracks somewhere too. Seems weird that there would be foreign trains out on the tracks, but that's what I've heard - so I'll be sure to capture those as well.

I haven't made it this far in Fallout 4, yet. Please post spoiler warnings.

Seriously, great photos. Your compositions and angles are great.

Hahaha, it does have the atmosphere of Fallout 4. I'll be sure to post spoiler alerts next time.

I completely agree. I've been messing around with HDR lately on my camera. Trying to find the balance between the both. Thank you for the comment.

I'd be interested in checking out out with you. i haven't thought about that area in years. A guy i knew in San Pedro build a rail cart so he could just drive along the tracks to explore old railways. That set of tracks was on his list.

And I'd be interested to see any of these trains from Korea. I might be able to figure out a little more about them and how they got there as well. Be sure to notify me if you post any pictures, because I don't spent much time in this part of the site.

Hahaha a rail cart. That's genius! That would make the job so much easier lol.

Hell yea dude. If you want to come along next time I take the trip, the more the merrier. Shoot me a PM and I'll let you know when I head out that way bud.

Yea the trains from Korea is kinda strange... Actually really strange. So I'll definitely document as many details as I can about it when I take the trip.
