In the summer I visited a "Ghost Speedway" here in the GTA. This is what's left of Speedway Park, a abandoned race track just north of Stoney Creek, Ontario. It was in operation as a paved 1/3 mile oval from 1971-1975. Lots of info on the track here: http://www.canadia.../speedwaypark2.asp A few pics from the explore: 1. Google image of the track, sitting abandoned in a farmers field.
2. Walking up to the track. You can see the outline of the banked corners.
3. Looking down the backstretch
4. Looking into Corner 3
5. Part of the wall still stands along the front stretch
6.
7. Racing hazards
8. A lonely tire with a friendly weed
9.
10. What's left of the concession stands & souvenir booth
