Basically some kid walking around the mill got the crap beat out of him and he was left for dead.
I thought you all should know about it before going.

Crazy. He describes his own experience that he was picked off the street, beaten, dumped at an abandoned building and spent several days in the ICU and that they have no leads on who did it.
I would have expected you'd hear about it on the news asking the public for leads when someone is harmed this badly. I'm surprised there's nothing in the news.

I hardly doubt that the story was made up, I have met the kid a couple of times and know the community he hangs out with who are not the type to make up a fund me thing and ....fake hospital shots and make up....(??) that seems less logical to me.
Either way, I posted as a warning to people going because safety is a priority and rather be safe than sorry. Either way, increased attention to the area will obviously have implications on security measures so take this for what you will.

No doubt the mill is now hotter. Muggers generally don't kidnapped their male victims. Sounds like a dope deal that went south... that and the broken chain of events by his own account put up a bunch of red flags in my mind.

For people who makes comments about donating money. It's NOT about donating money. It's about SAFETY AWARENESS. The link just happens to be for a gofundme account because that's where the story is.
On another note, hope he is okay and receives the help he needs. Definitely not going to the mill anytime soon. Place is huge, he is incredibly lucky he made it out alive.

Well said. It's a good reminder to remain alert when you're exploring just as if you're operating machinery. The story suggests the scuffle started outside of the location in the darkness. It doesn't tell us enough if it was random or stemmed from a personal dispute though.
This general area is really dark at night and cars drive fast. The curb damage and occasional hubcaps suggest it's best to avoid walking around this area after dark.

If its the mill i think he is talking about. Its bad news there for sure. I wouldnt recomend this place to anyone. Between the crime, security and the asbestos and mold, its not safe. I have a friend that ran into a group of aggressive people and he broke his arm getting out of there.

I hate to be skeptical, but the extensive step-by-step story of how he got out of the situation seems like he is trying to be too convincing. He obviously got messed up but I don't buy what he is selling as the story of what happened
But it's a good reminder to stay safe while exploring
