sure, it was really silly. the two decided to test the various DUI avoidance myths - i.e. take breath freshners, eat, suck on a penny, etc... to try and defeat a breathlyzer. the way they did this was by going to the SFPD lab, getting smashed on screen (Adam drank Scoth, Jaime drank Cosmos, i think) with the police, and then repeated coming up drunk despite their efforts to conceal it. in fact, oddly enough, mouthwash actually made their tests worse, rather than better. it was a good one...

I enjoy watching the show, although I usually end up missing it for whatever reason. I liked the DUI myth, and I liked the cell phone one. It's amazing what these guys can do when they put their minds to it. I don't know if you saw the suspension bridge one, but the mini suspension bridge they built was amazing, as well as their idea for what to use as the soldiers.

Mouthwash contains alcohol. I saw the suspension bridge one, I thought it was pretty funny to watch.
So I said "Why don't you shove it where the sun don't shine" and so he did. He put it in the cupboard under the stairs and it hasn't been mentioned since. -Stephen Fry |

I think the myth about pissing on the 3rd rail was pretty good, although that DUI thing sounded neat. -SnArF

yeah, but oddly enough it increased their test amounts by like 400%, much more than anyone expected from mouth wash.

That would be awesome! You should seriously try and get in touch with them and see if you could have them help dig up some info on one or few of the legends we've talked about on this board.

supposedly have a friend of a friend situation going on with Adam and a girl at work, been trying to arrange an intro for quite a while now if it works, tho, it would be so neat!

I really enjoyed their episode on the 'dead body in a `Vette' myth - sticking a dead pig in a sealed corvette for a few months and then trying to sell off the car later. I'm sure the lads at Bowling Green were horrified, but I found the experiment rather amusing (especially Jamie and Adam's reactions when re-opening the car for the first time).

god yeah, that was really funny (and quite disgusting). what an idea... that must have looked great on a script proposal.

I don't have cable, so I've only caught a few episodes, but it looks like an awesome show. Some of the myths they try and debunk are pretty out there. It's amazing what some people will believe. I think my favorite out of the few I've seen so far is the lightning/body piercing one. The cannon made from a tree trunk was pretty cool too. As for the DUI test results, I'm not surprised. The second ingredient on most mouthwashes is alcohol.

The wonderful thing about those guys is that they are based right here in the SF-Bay Area! Watched them film 4 episodes so far.
Wishing I was Jack Dalton just to have all the cool leftovers... |

I noticed on their website that the pilot episode featured the rather famous Darwin legend of the guy who welded a JATO rocket to the roof of his car and ended up impacting a cliff with the car. Would love to have seen that episode. I always figured the story was merely urban legend (albeit rather amusing)....but would like to have seen MythBuster's spin on it.
S.K.

Just caught that one tonight. Looked like a cool hotel. They sure went to some major trouble to get that old elevator to work. Poor Buster...took a beatin' though, ha. Someone needs to `splore that location. Looks rather photogenic from what I could see in the show. S.K.
