I spent last year living in Galicia, Spain, which is a region in the northwest (above Portugal). It was an interesting place to live--quite isolated in a lot of ways. It was super rainy and verdant and there were beautiful beaches everywhere. I spent a lot of my free time (and I had a lot of it) walking along the beaches and rivers near me and failed to climb to the top of all of the nearby hills. The few locals I met never understood why I wanted to walk and climb hills; they were just as happy to sit and have a drink in a cafe. Anyway, I thought I'd post a random assortment of some of the things I saw there because I haven't seen many posts on here about Galicia. These photos were taken on my crappy cellphone camera. 1.

The mill shots are great!

What a Wonderful place to spend some time. Love the views of the water rushing over the rocks...but, your first photo is my kind of place. The mossy trees and ivy covering this old abandoned place/mill?!? or power facility near the water is awesome.
A place of Mystery is Always worth a curiosity trip! |
