This place was really fun to explore and the snow made it all the more beautiful. It was very cold out, and by the end my fingers were so numb that I could barely hold the camera. After it closed in the 90s, there was some talk of fixing the place up and reopening it, but nothing ever materialized. Now it's probably too late. The roof is caving in and everything's been pretty smashed up. If you're going to visit Twin Arrows, be careful when you exit the freeway. The lot is blocked off by concrete barriers right along the road, so you have to park further down the road and walk back. A noteworthy feature of this place is the Valentine Diner, a prefabricated restaurant made to resemble a dining car. They were popular from the '30s to the '60s, but few are still around today.

I'm pleasantly shocked that savages haven't put-in a hard hour's work knocking over the arrows yet. Let's hope that when someone finally does it, an ancient indian curse causes them great pain & suffering.

damn, I was out that way in february on the way to meteor crater and wondered if it was worth the stop.
Hopefully still around next time I'm down that way!

Damn, all that exterior tagging is relatively new. It wasn't there three years ago.

I'm a big fan of Valentines, and there are several in AZ that I know of. There's a long closed Valentine in Winslow that's had various names. There's a restored one at the Shady Dell RV Park in Bisbee called Dot's Diner, although it was closed when I was there in 2012. The Welcome Diner is in Phoenix, but despite what it says in the following website, I've never seen it open. There's also the Route 66 Diner in Sanders--a Valentine with several additions, which isn't listed below. http://www.roadarch.com/diners/az.html

I love Bisbee! I need to go back, and I'll be sure to check out Dot's Diner when I do. Thanks for the info!
