I've almost only ever explored alone. Other people kill the atmosphere.

Sploring alone teaches you to become more self reliant. A valuable skill.
You learn by doing.

I always explore with a buddy, that way if one of us ends up injured the other can help patch them up and/or help them get out. I haven't explored any "inner city" sites, but if/when I do, I'll probably try to go with two others - safety in numbers.

I explore with one other friend who's into it, but we often split up (remaining within reasonable distance) so he can move at his own pace while I take five minutes per subject to photograph something.

For me having another person there helps with the paranoia...

What was that? It must be cops!
Did I just hear a teenager pulling a gun on me?
Now I know a cop is about 5 seconds away from busting down the door.
Was that the wind or a coyote?

Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not, we never are. But that's not the right question. The question is, are we living a life that is worth the harm?

To be honest, I'm actually able to do a lot more when I'm with other people. I can pussy out sometimes, but if I'm with a group of people my morale is a lot higher and I feel more confident to do stuff. I don't mind exploring on my own though, many times I'm not in the mood to bring a ton of people.

I'm not gonna lie but the 10+ years I've explored storm drains maybe 5 of those years I've explored drains alone but I'm always looking for new friends to explore with. As of recently (within the last 3 years to be exact) me exploring drains alone seems to come and go, only because storm drains are my favorite but it doesn't seem to be others favorite. It's not as scary as it seems but there can be some scary stuff happening in drains like sudden loud noises (cars running over manhole covers) my headlamp spots eyes looking at me from a distance, other weird noises (sometimes I can hear people talking above ground), sometimes other people come into the drain, not knowing who they are (always other explorers and not too often that happens). One time I heard a scurrying noise, what sounded like an animal trampling through the leaves, which ended up being the wind blowing leaves down manhole grates. Overall it can be scary exploring a storm drain alone, especially when it's a big, long drain goes very far but honestly I've gotten used to going alone to explore drain. Just so we're clear, I'm always looking for new friends to go exploring with as long as you all understand that I'm very into urban exploring and needs to be taken seriously. As for exploring buildings, caves and sewers alone, I've never done that because that seems more dangerous than exploring storm drains alone (LOL).

Usual go with same 2 clowns i have been doing it with for last 17 years.

Have traveled and explored at home and abroad. Bye myself, resilient and be able to deal with stuff. Sometimes you get hit with the Unknown.

Did a Solo trip due to no one else having time off work. So traveled to Berlin Drove from there to krakow in Poland dropped into Czech Republic stopped in Prague then back into southern Germany. Biggest problem was navigation as Czech at that time had very poor mobile network. Still had a lot of fun. Prior to that drove to Wales in a Day to hit a site. where i had to avoid Police dog unit training. Returned few hours later they had left. Then had to hide while inside Hospital Pharmacy unit that Security walked passed with a Joiner

Makes you trust your own abilities.

Sometimes I found myself alone especially in a lonely place. When there is no one alongside me.

I think I know what your saying about not wanting to bring a lot of people to explore something because it can get sketchy depending on where you go and what manhole cover you pop and enter but on the other hand it can be fun to scout out areas and explore stuff alone. There are some times where I do get nervous exploring storm drains alone because there has been some times where I've seen animals in the drains aside from raccoons, rats, toads, frogs, mice, etc. Not too long ago I saw a very scary animal that I thought was a dangerous looking rat but later when I looked it up I discovered that it might of been a opossum and in that same drain not too long before that time I saw a white opossum, only this opossum had a rat like tail and the recent opossum I saw had a hairy tail with a white face. I don't hang out with as many big group as before but I'm still open to it.

Yes, I find it relaxing to go out and explore in silence (unless weird shit pops up of course).

No, I find exploring with a friend or two makes for a more interesting experience. However, I'd rather go alone than with a group any larger than that.
