Hauntings & Ghost Encounters

I was doing a permitted explore earlier today in an old hotel in Odessa, TX. Before I went in I asked the owner if he could give me some insight into the building. The only thing he told me that he knew was that a woman had been murdered up on the 3rd floor. I asked him which room and he said 204. As I was making the rounds, I come to the door of 204 which was open halfway. As I go to push it open, it slams shut. I nearly shit my pants. Has anyone else had anything ghostly or unexplained happen when exploring (I cant wait to hear the smartass comments...).

Room 204

The Room

Lets have some fun. Add in your own ghost!

Many of my trips take me into the woods for a day of two, sometimes at night your mind can play tricks on you in the worst ways. Once I was in the Sam Houston National Forest looking for an old saw mill, on the first day while driving down a forest road near the place I would park my truck, I passed a camp site with tent and 1990s Honda Civic. I did not think much of it being December and hunting season, I was also hunting while there. On the first day around noon I found what I think was an old logging road. I tried to fallow it the rest of the day. It was very over grown so I had to machete my way through. I camped out their that night on the old road, everything was fine just the normal sounds of thinks in the forest at night.
Next morning got up made some coffee and Mama Noodles (Like Ramen, only better), and went on to this saw mill. By noon the road was gone and I had not seen any sign of anything that would tell me people had had any logging operation going on in the aria, so I started walking back and forth hoping to cross something that looked man made. By evening the only thing I had found was a thinned out area in the woods, a patch of old rotted tires, three small hills about 20' across and 3' tall, and some spent rifle shells (30-06, common hunting round)
I made camp that night right there and planed on heading back in the morning, made some more Mama noodles, and turned in for the night. Now I do not know what time it was (these were the days before smartphones) but it was early morning maybe 2:00am (the fire had completed burned out) I suddenly woke up! I just lay there because I swear I heard someone yell my name! I know I was alone, the only sound I heard was a light rain on my tent and small glimpse of the moon light as it poked out of openings in the clouds. I had my Glock 19 and my AK 47 next to me (yes, I hunt with an AK... it does the job!) At some time I fall back to sleep thinking my mind just heard something in my sleep and my mind was just playing tricks on me.
I do not know how much time passed but again I am awakened, "RAY!" This time it was right there next to my head! My eyes opened, it was so loud and so close to my head ( my feet touched one side of the tent, my head touched the other end) that my ear was ringing! At this point my Glock is in my hand, I am searching for the safety on my AK as I hear the crunch of a two legged someone walking just out side my tent. A part of me was saying all this is in my head another part of me is doing that 'fight or flight' thing! At one point I see the shape of someone standing at my feet, I do not know how far away, it just stud there in my mind looking at me. All this time I am slowly sitting up trying to get to my knees, I had put down my 9mm next to me and was in the process of "quietly taking the safety off on the AK (anyone who shoots AKs knows what I am talking about). I could only see this thing's silhouette when it was back lit from the moon poking out of the clouds, when the moon light was gone I could not see it and I wanted to keep it in my sights. At one point it looked and sounded like it turn sideways to me then the damn cloud hid the moon light for what seemed like forever, I heard a few more crunches. I was really scared because I did not know if it was coming to me, going away, a voice in my head told me to fire off a mag in that direction but I did not want to kill some prankster or a drunk hunter out to take a piss.
The rest of that night I did not sleep, as soon as I could see the morning light I slowly unzipped the tent, and get out still a little shaken by all this, I remember making some fast coffee, packing everything up (no Mama noodles) started heading out, the saw mill would have to wait! I think around noon I neared where my truck was, I was about to pass where the camp site and Honda was and found some Texas Game Wardens some police and a tow truck. They saw me and quickly asked to see my ID and hunting license I gave them what they asked plus my CHL. I wanted to ask what was going on but they ask me if I had seen anyone while I was hunting, I kept it simple, I told them I think I heard someone walking around last night but I was not sure, I told them where I was and they said they would check it out. I asked what going on here, they told me this dude parked his car, set up is camp two weeks ago and has not returned yet, other hunters saw him set up his camp but that was all they knew.
That day still sticks in my brain, I have been out there two more times looking for this saw mill, never found it and never had anything like that happen to me again in that location. I do not believe in ghosts but I do believe there are demons and things like that.

I was exploring a Plantation home a while back that was under construction. No one was there but tools were lying around everywhere. As I was passing the servants quarters I thought I heard talking. I went to the door to listen (in case I needed to explain why i was there) and it was music. The weird thing was that looking through the window, the room was empty but I heard 1920's style music playing.

Honest, I was just looking. www.urbexmag.com

I am sure everyone has a story or two. There are a few YouTubes out there that have some crazy things happening while people explore.

I just refuse to believe in hauntings and paranormal activity. Why would ghosts only reside in abandoned and inactive places? If there were seriously ghosts among us, they would be in abandoned and active places alike. And would haunt us during the day as well as night. I don't buy into orbs or any one that stuff. Sure, I have felt uncomfortable or uneasy in locations before, but I chalk that up to the danger and unfamiliarity of the site. Nothing more.

I was in an old Hotel/Brothel up in Pennsylvania, built back around the 1850's, first as a railroad hotel, then changed to a Brothel, around the 1860's-70's, and back into a hotel in the 1920's, to become abandoned in the 1950's. Anyhow the guys who now own and live there, run a coffee shop on the first floor, and they each own a floor above that. They were excited to get to show the place off, and tell as much as they knew of the history of the building. Which is quite a bit, I might add.
According to the history of the building, a few of the Prostitutes were brutely murdered in there, over the years as a brothel. The guys say from time to time, they see a woman on one floor at night will walk by the window at the end of the hallway. And on another floor, a woman dressed in period undergarments will walk the floor. In one room they want to get the floor replaced, but cannot keep a crew in there, and now word has spread and they cannot get anyone to go in there. The door has never been repainted or touched up, from the time it was painted, after becoming a Brothel, and still looks like new paint, without any signs it has been touched up.
While shooting in there, with the guide, I got a picture on some of the sections of the stair way, and one it looks like a flash reflection, on the brass plates, until I put it on my computer, and I could then see a perfectly formed hand pointing up. This is in full detail, and wigged me out, because I have never been a believer in the "Photo-ghosts".
Yes I believe in ghosts, and such, but I never believed that much in the stories of ghost captured on photos. I always had a question about them, because I found it hard to accept. Now I really don't know what to think, because I have one, and know there was no editing to make it.
