Just after the demolition of both Greystone and Marlboro state hospitals, another NJ county hospital was demolished. The Preakness Healthcare Center operated as the Valley View sanatorium for a number of years before being retrofitted into a nursing home. It closed at the end of 2009, and sat empty until this month when demolition began. Here are a few photos showing the rapid progress.

i've been exploring since 1999 and i can say without a shadow of a doubt, this was the single most disgusting place i have ever been. that room in the basement with all the coats made me run out and almost puke in the hallway.

Sure was man. This is the only place i've ever ever been that gave me a respiratory infection. I told myself I would never go back inside after that, and I stuck to it. The place never had a chance. There was two inches of water in the halls within a year of its closure. The forensic lab was cool though.

Sorry for the hijack on your thread also, but wanted to share a mid demolition shot from a few weeks ago when the front portico was still intact.

No worries man, that's a fantastic shot. It's too bad they didn't save any of the architectural features. The mahogany casing and pediment in the admin area was beautiful. I really hope they saved the stained glass window over the front doors.
