Hey-o, I've got a quick question about something I found a few months ago. I found the building itself simply by accident after getting on the roof of another abandoned building, but although I can read NFPA diamonds, I have had an incredibly hard time figuring out what chemicals these are.
(If it helps, I think the building was once part of an oil refinery)

Fire: 0
Reactivity: 3
Specific: No Water


Health: 3
Fire: 3
Reactivity: 2
Specific: none

The numericals aren't going to tell you what type of chemical it is, you have to have paper work or an ID number to at least give us something to go on.

Yeah what RescueMe said. You would have to find an identification placard or an MSDS sheet to actually identify the chemical.

Ah, okay, thanks guys. I had thought that I should've been able to identify the chemical with just the diamond numbers.
(Although based on what the diamond's indicate, I'm not sure I've got enough equipment to go in those buildings...)

So I did a bit of digging and was able to find a wonderful site that allows you to search based on NFPA 704 diamond numbers.

The first one I believe is just instructional as there are no chemicals with that make up at least for the NFPA 704. At least until you add "No water" to the search.

The other sign though the 3, 3, 2 one I found a few chemicals.

Ethyl Acrylate, Inhibited
Methacrylaldehyde
Methyl Acrylate, Inhibited
Methyh Chloromethyl Ether
2-Nitropropane

All of these have a flammability of 3 a health hazard of 3 and an instability score of 2

I hope this helps a bit, you can research the chemicals and see which one it might most likely be.
