Parking behind a barn, we figured we were out of sight, out of mind. We'd pretty much explored the entirety of this lovely old farm house when I heard the sound of an approaching vehicle. A tractor was slowly making its way up the driveway, which meant we were blocked in and were certainly going to be found. So I took the initiative and walked out to speak to the farmer. At first it looked like he was going to get out and assault me, but a quick smile and a 'hello' helped the situation. He wasn't sure what to make of us, not quite angry but not quite at ease. Once we started asking about the history of the house he seemed to be more approachable and went into details about the house. At some point he's planning to demolish the property and it will join so many others as a pile of bricks and wood in a landfill. Thanks for looking. 1.

Love these old farmhouses. Nice capture with number 2 - can I ask what aperture and F point you are shooting? I'm still an amateur with this stuff

Sure can... it's 8.0 aperture (or f-stop). Automatic ISO and same for exposure time. The exposure will usually be 100 or 400 ISO though, but I prefer to let the camera decide. My struggle has always been with the aperture - and I thank Darkman for helping with out with this.

I usually take three images at -2, 0 and +2 exposures and them merge them using Photomatix. I'm trying to slowly get away from the HDR effect but not entirely

Thanks for the insight !! Really digging these photos. I've mentioned it before that I'm not a big fan of HDR but these pictures aren't overly done and came out really nice.
