Me and a couple friends got curious, and wanted to get inside the old west lawn building. Seeing how creepy it is outside, we needed to see what it was like inside. So after a couple days of scouting/ planning we made or move, got to the building without being spotted and we waited for security to pass a few times to have our timing right. We found our P.O.E that we scouted out on the first day and went towards it. With a little luck of security not driving by and none of us falling off the ledge we had to scale, we made it inside, unseen and unheard. We made our way to the bottom floor and worked our way to the top slowly, very uneasy atmosphere, the bottom 2 floors and the basement were pitch black. We were wearing masks because we heard there was asbestos. And I'm sure glad we did, cause the air in there definitely wasn't the healthiest. We never found the tunnel, maybe it has been sealed off? I don't know. I wasn't equipped with a good camera so the pictures aren't the best. I would love to get back in there with a decent camera. (Any takers?) Anyways, I'd say the best part about this place would have to be the huge caged staircase, very creepy. I loved every moment of it. I'm glad I was one of the few to walk those halls before they tear it down, or whatever plans they have for it.
Does anyone have any idea what the writing would Mean on that one picture?

Or why it's written in Cyrillic?? Nice job. I'll join you next time!
I've never heard of Cyrillic writing... I'll have to do some research on it I'll let you know if I go! Or just let me know when you want to go! I'm itching to get back in

Cool pics, sketchy writing in the last one there! i REALLY want to get in that place and check it out. Is the public allowed to roam around the property? Because ive seen cars parked there before. Would like to walk through there, maybe get some aerial footage with my drone, then maybe at some point try and get inside.
Ya your allowed on the property, we drove/walked around all the buildings and no one gave us a hard time. Security would drive right past us
Getting insides a different story though, very sketchy trying to get in, security might not be to happy about a drone, but man that thing would get some good views
Ok thanks for the reply! Ill check out the grounds sometime then

Great photo set and congrats on the entry Greatwhiitenorth. Masakari the grounds are completely open to the public now, however if security see's you climbing on anything they will ask you to leave. In terms of flying your drone I don't think there would be any issue with that and personally I think you should do aerial footage of all the buildings.

The writing is definitely in Russian, The door says "ТОЛЬКО ПОЛНОМОЧЕБНЫП ПЕРСОНАЛ" which translates to "PERSONNEL ONLY POLNOMOCHEBNYP", making me think there's maybe a letter or two missing on the left side. The single readable word on the wall beside the door is "ТРЕВОГУ" meaning "ALARM", and the word on the opposite wall is "ВЫХОД", meaning "OUTPUT".

I was just gonna see if I could translate it somehow haha thanks for saving me the time, Thats cool to know
I was in there a few years back, never noticed the Russian, that is really weird. Congrats! You could spend days exploring the grounds and not see everything.

Spectacular! Looks awesomely creepy.... Greatwhite, I definitely want to go with you if you go again in the next month (before I leave to wander the globe, again). I've wanted to get in there, for a while, now... Can anyone think of reasons why there is Cyrillic / Russian written in there? That's very bizarre & hella curious... Do you think it used to be run by the Eastern Orthodox Church, or something? OR THE KGB AS A DRUG TESTING INSTITUTION ON NORTH-AMERICANS!???? hahahaha /conspiracytheory

"Any takers?" Hell yeah, just let me know when and where. Gonna need to invest in a mask... But can at least bring a nice camera!

slick, cool filter on the pics! I did woodlands back in 09 and it was definitely way easier to get into.

I think the Russian may be from a movie shoot done long ago.
"We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm." -George Orwell Rest in peace, my pal Mowgli - the best dog there ever was. |
the russian writing is from a movie a long time ago, also security doesnt care if you break into west lawn, if they see you trying to break in they will tell you to fuck off, but once your in, it doesnt matter, police and fire will not go in after you because it is so dangerous

Ya I had a talk with one of the guards not to long ago and he said people get in all the time, they just patch it up and call it a day. Watch for bobcats though.... They like to lurk around that area

I have spent way too much time at Riverview, and I have never seen a bobcat there. There is a resident black bear and a couple coyotes though.
