Quite a bit of wandering
entry by autowitch

The past week has been a bit busy. The Pittsburgh Tank & Boiler Company visited the Crossroads, Wayward Couch and General Palmer tunnels. The first one was a bit dissapointing - what looked like it could be a reasonable tunnel heading into an older quirky neighboorhood, veered off and headed into a newer subdivision and shrank to an unpleasant size for an old witch.

The other two were older tunnels and surprisingly large, rocky and muddy. A lot of fun. I just wished they were a bit longer. The General Palmer still contained portions of the cribbing used to build it. Wayward Couch was primarily an excerise in boot sucking mud (and yes, one member of the team who was wearing tennis shoes (which is a bad idea), did lose her shows in the mud).

We also were granted access to a portion of a basement of an older historic building. Apart from some vaults and the required trashed bathroom, not much was found. My research was showing that if what I'm hoping for exists, it would be in the closed off section of the basesment.

Finally, we located and did an initial survey on a tunnel that we're currently just referring to as 'Lucky 31'. It looks promising.

I have some pictures over at http://www.autowitch.org and more information
