Spectacular Jerm, some people just have too much money to allow some dream homes rot. Love all the wood & stone.

nice place, stair case looks very ominous, like you should expect some figure to just walk out of the darkness.

Well this type of find is why I LOVE this hobby !! Fantastic pics Jerm and I always enjoy your writings...makes one feel as if they are there with you !!

Thanks for the nice comments all. Nicole and I returned for another visit today only to get caught by the property's caretaker.

It was a pleasure to have your blessing and help with visiting Mile Of Memories Mansion Jerm. It was also very pleasant to sit down over coffee and talk shop as well. Both Storytrail and I look forward to linking up again soon! Your friend, Bumblebee 1.

Great location, Jerm! It's not often that mansions go abandoned in Ontario, this one was really cool. Sad to see all the clocks destroyed though. My contributions:

Awesome stuff. Coincidentally I think "Sitting Pretty" is the best shot of your set, and and BB's #7 is the best of his set. Has nothing to do with the identical subject matter!

Beautiful Jerm *gold star for you! (in love with these pics)

So it looks like this story might get a happy ending. A new owner has purchased this property and are planning on restoring the place. They've already cleared away the trees between the house and lake and it looks like one of the barns has had some of the siding repaired. Doesn't seem like much activity going on at the house itself yet, hopefully soon because now that it's not hidden behind trees anymore this boarded up old mansion is sure to attract attention.

Some recent pics I saw elsewhere also showed all of the interior drywall had been removed, but keeping framing intact. (ie, not totally smashed out with a sledgehammer) That is going to be a HUGE project, but think of the finished product! It's funny, 4 years ago that place was my dream house, now I cringe just thinking of the cost of restoring and then heating it.

Glad it's being restored. House looks amazing.

Hey! I just made a post of this one. I love seeing it so full of life (yet abandoned still). It definitely wasn’t looking like that while I was there.

I finally got a second to breathe and pull out my laptop. Here's the recent photos I took while I was here around New Years. (This is my first time trying out the quick gallery creator, fingers crossed!) 1.

This is really unbelievable. The bison head is almost too spot on for “old money mansion”
