I don't want to sound like I'm fishing for compliments here, is this shot boring?
I wasn't going to post it, but I thought maybe someone will think it's cool. I thought it was cool when I took it, but now it just seems dull next to everything else. Since I took it, and I stared at it for a long time when I edited it, I can't look at it objectively, so I'm curious. What do you guys think?

I think its a good shot, but, would of liked something i could blow up and read that was really cool. What i did make out, just wasnt that juicy lol... Someone else might really enjoy it tho. You dont have to make everyone happy here. I miss the LIKES plenty of times on pics i thought were keepers. Just keep posting! Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

Thanks! I'm not worried about pleasing everyone, just wondering what other people think of a composition that's more mundane still life than architectural landscape. Any feedback is good feedback, because knowing what other people like and don't like helps you get better. Anyway, here's another picture.

Like this one so much more.. it has character. The cobwebs and broken glass add to that appeal. I think if i could of seen a date on the paperwork that was really old it would of helped.. lol, but, thats just me. You are doing very well on your B&W.s and i enjoy your work very much

I like the shot, but I think you could create more of a dramatic angle or perspective. Possibly more depth of field, but that kind of depends on what lens you're using too. Conversely, shooting from straight above sometimes has interesting results. The first suggestion is something I've been working really hard on improving personally. I find that if you can get down really low, or move to where the lines in the photo are positioned to where they angle off of the corners of the shot, it will tend to have a more dynamic feel and draw in the viewer more. I don't know if I explained that very well, lol. I like the TV shot the best too. The only thing I might have done is crop that right corner a little bit. I like the angle and the focus is nice and sharp. Hope that helps!

Super helpful, thank you! Next time I have a picture I'm not sure about, I'll be sure to post it in the Photo Critiques section, this has been really informative.

Awesome! I wish I had asked for critiques a lot sooner, personally. I would've saved myself a lot of time (and having to sort through years of really shitty photos, lol).

Thank you! Your photos on the previous page are really outstanding. I couldn't decide which one I wanted to comment on because I liked all of them, but I think the old bicycle and the shoes are my favorites!

Thank you! That was a nice little spot I'd heard about recently; that pool was a nice surprise...I'll have to revisit on a nicer day. I'm definitely loving your barber chair shot! 😀
